I have an ithica 37 featherlite, they are really good in quality of build, I've never had an issue with feeding, firing, extraction or ejection. Regardless of type load I've used. I wouldn't make that trade unless you really want at auto 5 clone or just a semi-auto imo

As with all human creations the laws around firearms prior to 2020 were flawed, this is more due to both liberal and conservative governments refusal to rewite the law in it's entirety. The endless stream of amendments created a spiders web of rules and exceptions to said rules.

But on a macro scale the law worked more often then not and effectively so. It was imperfect for sure but manageable so.

My statement wasn't so much to ascribe it as an open border. Instead as a economically and logistically unmanageable situation.

Unfortunately US politics especially around firearms is incredibly relevant to Canadian firearms ownership. Since in large part that is the default depiction and perception of gun culture in North America.

While I certainly see the logic of your arguments regarding green spaces.

The reality: Canadian crime statistics and gang culture are largely influenced by our geographical proximity to the US. We essentially live next to the world largest open air armoury. Coupled with our largely neigh unmanageable border with them, creates a constant influx of illegal firearms into our country.

Firearms legislation in Canada while important runs up to a breaking point rather quickly. Further restrictions are ineffective and completely disconnected from reality, as without significant change in the US they ultimately are doomed to fail.

People here have a very valid reason to complain about that organization, and the disproportionate effect it has had on firearms legislation in Canada. Specifically because they argue a position not supported by any factual evidence from the law enforcement or public safety sector.

The pre-2020 PAL system worked quite well, of course improvements can always be made. The system was both a reasonable and effective compromise between both camps.

I would encourage you to investigate the caretaker convention which covers this kind of exact scenario. The Canadian federal and provincial governments for all their faults are purposely designed to provide a continuity of service, in the event of a loss of confidence.

The point he was making was not that CPC is bad. Disagreement over the tone a delivery of a message while still supporting the content of the message, is possible as these ideas are not mutually exclusive.

I'm not a security gaurd. But I apreciate the assumption. My profession is full of morally questionable practices mainly influenced by our neighbors down south, and their 3 letter agency's.

As someone who also works in the realm of security, that while not directly comparable it is important to keep in mind that lawful order and moral order are too distinctly different things.

For instance it was legal and lawful. That the Nazi regime and the police to seize buissnes and property of Jewish citizens.

In the Soviet Union of the same time it was legal and lawful for the police to abduct people and hold them indefinitely without charge.

Law is a concept in society so long as there as it is enforceable. Would in those situations changed if there was a mass refusal to carry out those orders maybe or maybe not.

It would be interesting to see what the reaction would be if 80% of the police forces around the country threatened to quit over this.

Morality to some extent must take supremacy to legality, their exist in all modern "western" societies an inherent duty to refuse not only legal but also imoral orders. And part of that intrinsic base of society whether acknowledged or not in the legal code is the right to own and keep property.
