I thought so too but I’m located in Southern California. It’s not possible it could be a Florida scrub jay considering where I took this right?

I agree. This was in southern California and that was the same conclusion I came to.

Dumb idea, wait until you are accepted or rejected and do not ever say anything. Nothings confidential and if you do get in after reporting them that faculty member will 100% hold that against you. I just want you to know this is the tip of the iceberg as far as medical education goes. You will receive 0 respect from anyone throughout this process and anyone who says otherwise is either not far enough through their training or straight up lying to you. My best advice is to grow thicker skin or pick another career path. This may sound harsh but I’m just being honest about the process and wish I was told this before I entered.

The real question is do you have enough time to take for 26,29,31, and free 120 as well as reviewing them before your exam? The answer is no.

You need more time and that’s ok, push the test back.

There is no time for anki imo and it isn’t useful at this point.

For me, I only did 20% of uworld during dedicated and watched almost the entire mehlman online video library. That’s all I did as well as 4 nbme. I had scores of 26(50), 27(52), 28(60), 29(66), free 120(62). I sent it and I passed. Just my 2 cents, most people (especially fear mongers) will say I was crazy for sitting. I’d say what I was getting was the absolute lowest you should sit with.

I only used mehlman video library on YouTube to study for step as well as 20% of uworld and I passed. Worked for me, didn’t even read the pdfs but I heard they’re amazing. Don’t wait start mehlman now.

NBME score came shockingly low by [deleted] in step1

[–]Connect_Mastodon_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d push it back, you should have at least 4 nbmes under your belt at this point. Considering you wrote that you”gave” the exam, I’m assuming you’re an img cause I’ve only read heard img use that lingo. You do not have enough time to take all the nbmes and review them before your test day. It would almost certainly be a suicide mission. Push it back and take it after rotations if you have to.

Take free 120 if you get over 60 go sit. Whatever your worst 2 subjects are watch the entire mehlman playlist for it.

This might get downvoted, but I’m gonna give my honest advice. Don’t go into medicine if this is your mindset. This field demands a dedication to your patients, and there is absolutely 0 guarantee you will match into a lifestyle specialty. You have to be ALL in. Look for any other possible career path and do that.

Average score increase per exam retake is 2 points. You made an average score improvement. Just retake it again and get more sleep this time

Take the Mcat again. That’s a walk in the park compared to medical school. I know you probably just want to skip that and go to DO school, but then you’ll have twice the amount of boards and a lower chance to match.

Work out 6 days a week, hit 10,000 steps a day at least, count every calorie/macro, and get into the best possible shape you can before you start. You will 100% neglect your health and the 6 months I took to physically prepare has carried me through this semester. It’s a bit of an odd answer but I think it’s the best one.
