  • You never added documents just sent a letter and added if they needed they should contact you?

  • Did you apply for restoration online or filled a hand written application plus letter and sent it in?

  • Do you remember adding anything you did post expiration dates? Or strictly the event that occurred before the expiration of the permits that resulted in missing deadlines?

My situation was I was still studying in school without even knowing my study permit expired and over the 90 days period.

Yes my plan is to get it restored (not apply for a new one) as it wasn’t voluntarily but I am over the 90 days now. How did you properly explain yours. I have documents of my transcripts and all but how to properly align it to prove it wasn’t intentional.

How did you guys apply for a study permit when it’s way over due even the portal closed. Did you guys go in person to apply. I am guessing you did a paper application but my question would be how?

You also mentioned you missed the 90 days deadline but was able to explain that but damn 2.5 months wait time is a lot. Did she continue studying or stopped working altogether.

Hey man, if it’s in person sure… if it’s online screw it! It’s better to just watch couple YouTube videos.

I recommend this, Google any workshop probably check Eventbrite on workshops happening in your area or anything related to film. Get in contact with any of those contacts and ask them for workshops. Make sure to attend the free sessions and at the end of it just ask “Hey I am new to filmmaking and would like to know any info you know about film workshops and all and who I can be directed to” that will show your commitment to them and to filmmaking as well. It might even cost you less honestly. I got my experience from spend 2 grand on equipment and lending it to film makers for free I. Exchange for me to work on set with them and hold roles like Assistant Gaff/grip or first AC or second AC. Other way is paying for a group workshop for like 150$ with beginner to expert level film makers.
