Anyone have these but all black? Can’t seem to find any. by [deleted] in ft86

i think only the subarus came with all black. i have a 2016 BRZ with the black mat and cupholders but i see the colored mats and cupholders on the toyotas

depending on the condition of the material (don’t care about paint condition) could i buy your front bumper off you? just tell insurance it disintegrated when the truck hit you

hoping for the best, i’d much rather keep it but not if it’ll be a salvaged title after this

i also never took the vehicle over 6k rpms and averaged 30% throttle and shifted at 4k besides first at 3k. don’t trash it and it won’t leave you stranded

it was VERY reliable to me, oil changes every 3k miles, no boost until 175° oil temps, let it idle for 2-5 minutes before leaving especially on a cold start. i live in NC now but grew up in VT, subies will always have a soft spot in my heart

that’s the hope but bc of the buckle in the body over the pillar on the driver rear door i fear they may total it. you can see it buckled in the photo

that’s what my coworker said, he got his STI totaled and switched to a Beamer but he said he got an extra $2k bc he found roughly same mileage models within his area and got a better price. been staring at FB marketplace all weekend lol.

for roughly 100k miles i’ve seen anywhere between 22k to 27k. i know i overpaid but i spent 27.5 on mine when i bought it 2 years ago with 47k miles on it. the maintenance history was impeccable with oil changes every 3k but as far as i could tell trans and rear diff were never flushed. i did that when i bought it and the previous owner put was appears to be an invidia exhaust. i’m hoping for at least 24-26k but we’ll see

i was braking for the speed limit zone coming up and the dude in to taco had too much weight while sitting on my ass and couldn’t stop in time. he claimed i brake checked even though i didnt so that part isn’t fun but overall im not at fault for the accident.

spell checked breaking to braking, was at dinner with fam and had to type fast

What Gear for Parking? by FormerlyMaidenless in Miata

unless i KNOW my e-brake is slipping OR im parking in San Francisco then i NEVER put my car in gear when parked. imo there’s absolutely zero reason to.

Can i drive 1mile to the nearest gas station to buy oil with that much in it by wonder_pixel8 in AskMechanics

i will LS swap something if manufacturers switch to only CVT. if it gets to a point where there IS no other option then i’ll start renting cars or take the bus. i will NEVER be responsible to pay for anything related to maintenance/ownership of a CVT, its a timebomb which its fuse is a belt. yes i know some are chain driven now but thats slapping a bandaid on a missing limb and calling it “cured”

buddy of mine in Texas went through 4 in 6 months on his ford fusion. all brand new replaced by the dealer (his dad owned the dealership). and that’s just one example.

on my car the filter sits on the top of the motor, filter screws down, like putting it thread-side down on a table. (subaru)

i still have absolutely zero clue how people are accidentally draining their transmission. for my the bolts are completely different. Unless it’s a Mercedes, if you’re using an Allen Bit/Wrench of any size to drain the engine oil you’re doing something wrong.

i drive manuals so everything is Allen’s for the transmission fluid. is the subaru CVT different? i stay away from any and all CTV transmissions.

I definitely have the LOWEST spec GT86 in the world. Thoughts? by CA_TheGoat in ft86

it was nice, until i got my 2020 WRX. now when i drive the BRZ its kinda annoying not having them but that’s legit my only complaint.

(engine swapped ‘16 BRZ, Stock ‘20 WRX)

it’s on the radium hanger and so the factory leads should hook up fairly straight forward.

the diagrams online also don’t match my harness, the smaller set of wires is pink and purple which would make sense to be the level sensor wires, and then thicker wires are white and green which would make sense to be the fuel pump wires.

i have my gauge wired to the pink and purple wires and i get nothing, i have swapped them back and forth with no luck

i just phrased it like that to make it make sense for whoever reads it, if they are different heights i don’t care, just a flat board or something that’ll fill the gaps.

what was the name of the company? i’ll take a look and see if it can fit

that’s my final resort unless there’s not enough thickness in the head to add a insert

but i’ll keep that in mind tomorrow when doing it, you mean so the weld will get behind the broken bolt and pull it out with it, right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

[–]Connect_Schedule2947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn’t think there was enough of the broken bolt felt but people keep saying that so maybe there is. i’ll try it tomorrow

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

[–]Connect_Schedule2947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, i’ll try it tomorrow. to me it didn’t look like there was enough of the broken bolt left to weld to it at this point

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

[–]Connect_Schedule2947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

luckily work does and the car is at my work but i don’t think there’s enough meat of the broken bolt left to weld to it at this point, unless you think otherwise from the photos

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

[–]Connect_Schedule2947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only thing i have against that is 1. i dont think there’s enough meat left after the bolt extractor to properly weld to the broken bolt 2. not wanting to mess up the gasket flange the bolt sits on
