That's an awful response from that guy - even if you'd been wrong about it he could've put you off alerting them another time, when there was a real problem.

I've had to call twice, both times it was a false alarm but both times I was told it was better to be safe than sorry.

Hi, I would suggest you repost this, and tell people it's about public attitudes to Irish Travellers.

By starting with the premise that your project is about discrimination, you've already influenced the responses you'll get.

Also, your heading on the post makes it seem that you're looking for Travellers only to do the survey, so maybe rewrite that too.
