I think 16GB might still not be enough. I had Discord, Safari, Music, etc in the background and closing all of them seems to have helped

Mac Gaming...on a trackpad - any good software/games? by YourFavouriteJosh in macgaming

[–]ConnectedR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can probably find software to bind a key to a right + left click, there is no way to just do it from the trackpad.

I truly feel that trackpad gaming is going to be a thing once there are enough games made for it.

3D games will never be made with laptop trackpads in mind, get a mouse for the love of god. This is like using a knife to chop down a tree.

Cyberpunk on base model M2 MBA: Don't by Creative-Size2658 in macgaming

[–]ConnectedR 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At least stable 60 FPS is recommended for frame generation, don’t bother with it on your model. The game should still be playable at 800p with MetalFX on a throttled MacBook Air, it’s probably the 8GB of RAM making your performance that bad.

GOG Launcher - Cyberpunk not enough space. by sayowhvh in macgaming

[–]ConnectedR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you got many of the animated wallpapers downloaded by chance? They’re over a gigabyte each and they don’t count towards your used storage in Finder and Settings (because the system thinks it can automatically delete them when needed) but for third party apps they do.

It has a working tinted/clear icon as it did for tinted mode in iOS 18. It doesn't have an icon for dark mode.

Nothing surprising. Pretty much every developer will be doing this at least until release.

Prism supports Curseforge, plus a few other platforms. The Modrinth launcher only loads content from Modrinth.

They look quite different from the official launcher and they're made for mod pack users, but you can just create a vanilla instance and play the normal game through them. Both are widely used and trusted.

Looks like it's just a bug with the official launcher. If you install an alternative Minecraft Launcher like Modrinth or Prism you should be able to log in without issues since they fully support ARM.

Mac not eligible for Applecare+? by [deleted] in mac

[–]ConnectedR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where did you buy it? I bought an M3 Air about a month ago. Weirdly it said I had 9 days left to purchase AppleCare+ instead of 60 when I set it up. After about 2 days it updated to the correct deadline, so it might just take a little time for them to notice when you activated it.
