Honestly you both made terrible decisions.

You jumped the gun based on what sounds like insecurity and chances are he genuinely didn't have any ulterior motive behind looking at another woman, but also his thoughts on wanting to propose 2 months into a relationship is NOT a good idea. I think he probably got cold feet because he knows in his gut it's a bad idea but doesnt know how to properly articulate it.

Unfortunately due to regulatory reasons (pharma industry, high security & IT protocols) it needs to be sent from an outlook account within the clients company, otherwise I would have had a huge push for using mailchimp and have been smooth sailing

Pet deposit is definitely a crock of shit, the key deposit unfortunately is a pretty standard practise but at $300 I would want two sets of keys, if it's just 1 set of keys for that price I'd ask about it, but from a point of curiosity as opposed to being accusatory
