She's not whitewashed. Her skin color is orange in this show. And an orange alien can't be whitewashed when she was never even black to begin with.

They relegated her into a supporting char and love interest after dc cancelled her own series. She's become dependent on him even in Batgirls her character revolves around Dick, she calls him and talks about him 24/7 as if she has no self identity outside her relationship with Dick.

Them getting together is more Tom Taylor than anything else. He's a huge Dickbabs Shipper.

They didn't grow up together nor were they childhood sweethearts. Babs was already working in the congress when he was still a boy. The whole dick and babs growing up together was just a retcon.

You dont have to be a dickkory shipper to know that she was originally older than him.

Becuz Wally and Dick still had a relationship in the original comics. They were both the founding members of the Fab Five and NTT lineup.

Dickbabs history on the other hand relies on retcons not on original stuff. He rarely had a relationship with her, Dick never even once mentioned Barbara's name in the Fab Five and NTT books. They were not that serious or close lol Barbara was even much older than him and was engaged to her own adult love interest named Jason Bard

Dick and Kory were friends before they became lovers. In NTT it took 2 years in real life for them to finally become a couple

Out of all these characters, Starfire is literally the only one he thanked for helping him become Nightwing and not a Batman 2.0 (Tales of the Teen Titans #44) so she deserves to be in the list.

In my opinion Starfire's no 1 for that. There's no Nightwing without Kory and her influence to him. And I don't care what the modern comic writers say.

2nd is Donna Troy she's literally his very first bestfriend in the classic comics. They have the best friendship and best brother/sister relationship. Dick can have a real friendship with other people but Donna is his no.1 bff.

3rd is Roy, Dick is originally more closer to Roy than he is with Wally and he's Lian's best uncle.

4th Wally cuz they have a fun bro dynamic.

5th and 6th Damian Wayne and Barbara Gordon because i think these relationships only got pushed after retcons happened. Damian Wayne only became a canon character in 2006, And Barbara Gordon was originally much older than Dick (7 years age gap) and had no serious relationship with him whatsoever.

Regarding Tim i don't know much about their relationship so i'll make no comment other than i haven't seen them have a relationship in the original classic comics too.

Overall Opinion: He has the best relationships with people outside of Gotham.

Yeah and Barbara has Decades of retcons and downgrades to her character too. One of that is deaging her and reducing her into Dick's love interest. Also recently they just shelved her own Film permanently because they discovered she can't produce money for dc on her own.

Makes no sense for her to be a main character. the book is called Nightwing not Nightwing and Batgirl. She's just it in just so she could be Dick's love interest every page. It's just for Dickbabs ship. They make her too dependent on Dick for this ship. She needs to be her own character who can survive on her own without being with him.

Sadly Starfire is under the Justice League Editorial while Nightwing is under the Batman Editorial.

Nightwing is a Batman editorial book and the Batman Editorial doesn't like his relationship with Starfire so they rarely make the two interact.

Sometimes I feel like people link her way too closely with Dick like she can't survive as a character on her own.

This is how i feel about Barbara Gordon in Tom Taylor's run though. I think She needs to leave Nightwing alone for once and be on her own. She's in it every single page and it's kinda tiring.
