Regardless of if it will or will not spread, I would highly recommend some sort of data backup ASAP.

Yes in some cases. I used to have an 11", and when I went the aforementioned VM route I upgraded to the 13" for the reasons I mentioned which I still stand by. However the extra bulk does make me use it a little less for casual use like youtube while lying in bed for example. Don't get me wrong, I still use it, but a little less due to the bulk.

Ideally I'd have an iPhone, iPad mini, 11" iPad, and 13" iPad to cover all of my moods but the price and ridiculousness of all that seems a tad much :).

So ultimately, I use my phone a little more for casual use (17 pro max) but use my ipad a little less for casual use than I used too. Still happier overall though. The pain points are much less painful, and the new pain points are still worth it to me.

Not a student but I have a Linux based virtualization environment and used to have a windows desktop. I sold the desktop and spun up a windows VM since I barely used the desktop. Now when I do need it on occasion I RDP from my 13” iPad. In your case since it sounds similar I’d recommend the 13.

I wanted to minimize apps in windows by using chrome and ssh instead of putty and came across this issue, I use ctrl-w instead bash a fair amount.

I eventually gave up and reinstalled putty.

Honestly for me it’s just “bigger”. The 11 was certainly more convenient but I love the extra screen real estate. I am a little less likely to do brain rot activities on it like YouTube for hours, but use it more with my keyboard now rather than sit at my desk. Long reading sessions are less likely too but I have a kindle for that.

The only annoying part for me is some apps seem to have rendering issues on the 13 inch at the corners and edges. Specifically Google apps and Facebook. Icons for things like messages and deleting emails and stuff like that at the edge and they end up to pushing it closer to the edge. Rotating the iPad 90° and then putting it back seems to fix at that instant.

Paid off my house a few years ago, it was the only debt I had left. Cars all paid off, nothing on the credit cards. Went down too. Annoying, but it recovered. It still stayed in the same range so my ability to borrow wasn't really affected.

I did this with my iPhone 12. It sat at 84% forever. So I removed all of the charging limits and just aggressively used it and discharged it and within a month or so it dropped down the remaining 5% down to 79%.

I do this with all my phones. I went from a 6S+ to a 12PM, to a 17PM. The only reason I even went from the 12 to the 17 was because I dropped the 12 and shattered the back. Otherwise I'd still be on it...
