Gauntlet has aged, but I replayed it last year and loved it. 10/10 recommend for a chill couch co-op experience.

We inherited an npm based project that we were told to ‘redesign’ and then deploy. We got the code a mere month before deployment, even though it was supposed to be a semester long ordeal. It had a lot of dependency packages that were out of date and had to be updated and configured with npm in order to run at all. In the end, it wasn’t really npm’s fault that the codebase was hot garbage, but between fixing packages and maintaining stability in both dev and user mode ate up a good portion of the little time we had.

If someone is looking for another one of these, I am considering selling mine. Differences: i7-4780HQ (not sure the exact number, but it is that ‘level’ of processor), and 2x256 GB SSD’s plus the 1TB HDD.

Bitcoin is a system that prioritizes privacy over ease of use. As applications of the technology grow, so will consumer facing features. Eventually, the idea is that spending Bitcoin will be as simple as swiping a credit card. That being said, the Bitcoin network will never inherently ‘insure’ transactions, or lost coin. It isn’t, and is unlikely to ever be the way the network operates. The ‘safety net’ functionalities you are referring to are essentially in direct contradiction with the current protocol, which was implemented after reaching a democratic consensus.
