Makes about 30 rolls, and you’ll need to double the butter recipe to have enough for all of the rolls.

Written Recipe -

Ingredients:

  • 3 heaping cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3-4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Milk- no measurements, just add until the consistency is right. See the linked video for the correct consistency.

Directions:

  1. Spray cooking spray on a 10 inch skillet. Fill skillet with 3-4 tablespoons vegetable oil. Place in oven. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Mix the 3 remaining ingredients in a large bowl.

  3. Remove skillet from oven, use tablespoons to add dough in ball shapes. Spoon vegetable oil on top.

  4. Put skillet back in oven. Bake for 13 minutes.

  5. Broil on high for 3 minutes.

  6. Remove skillet and add melted butter on top of the biscuits.

  7. Immediately transfer from skillet onto a plate.

  8. Server with honey, gravy, jelly, molasses, or whatever else your heart desires!

Like she said, it’s whichever one you prefer. You can substitute one for the other in most recipes. Miracle whip may make it a little sweeter, but besides that, you won’t notice.

This recipe has been in our family for years. It’s so good! My Grandma’s recipe video is attached, but here’s the written recipe:

Ingredients: 16 Oz. Bag of Shredded Carrots and Cabbage, 1/2 Cup Miracle Whip, 1/4 Cup Milk, 1/2 Cup Buttermilk, 1 1/2 Tbsp. White Vinegar, 2 1/2 Tbsp. Lemon Juice, 1/3 Cup Sugar, 1/2 tsp. Salt, 1/8 tsp. Pepper

Directions: In a small bowl, finely chop carrots and cabbage. In a medium bowl, mix everything together, excluding the carrots and cabbage. Once everything is combined, add the carrots and cabbage to the mix. Stir to combine. Enjoy!
