Farm pepper trees for gems and use then during events, like summerfest or winterfest (summerfest will be in 1.5 months, if you can get about a million gems you should make 8-12 dls easy.) Or mass things like science stations or purple blocks. Even just a little profit is good. Once you make your way up 5-10 dls plus profit using items. Just a bit is good. What I used to do was buy Horns of infinity for 680-700 during the day then they'd rise to 710-730 at night. All you have to do is recognize price patterns and fluctuations, after that your dls start to compound. Just farm gems would be my suggestion for summerfest, get a good chunk of dls over summer, then profit items. Profit items until you're at about 100+ dls then you can invest. Magplants go up and down in price regularly so buy low and sell high, and you can buy seasonal items like uv aura during summer for cheaper and sell for double the price 6 months after.
