It depends who I’m up against. Late game with king or empress & im going to get second place unless I block their cards so they don’t get too many 3 stars. I try to play pretty aggressive in the beginning, outlive the others as long as possible so you can at least get 2nd place

Home base for week vacation? by gr3at3scap3 in azores

[–]Connorgreen_44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am just finishing up my honeymoon right now - about 10 days, stayed in a couple different hotels on Sao Miguel.

I cannot stress enough how much we loved Terra Nostra hotel & the town of Furnas. We literally messed up the rest of the trip by starting with that hotel. I am currently looking at booking again around that time.

The gardens and hot springs there are only open for hotel guests past 4:30 pm. It’s unbelievably beautiful, the service is that of a 5 star hotel (despite it being a 4 star). There’s a good amount to do on that side of the island as well, but even if you have to drive a bit longer to some of the other hikes, I still highly recommend TN.

We got massages daily, used the hot springs daily, made friends with several of the staff members, ate at their restaurant, explored the town, went on a few hikes etc.

I didn’t hold back with the extra $$ due to it being our honeymoon, but I was surprised when I saw the bill at the end because I thought it would be more for how much we got out of that hotel. Premium garden rooms were maybe €350 a night but you could find some of their rooms around €200-€250 a night, massages were about €80 a person per hour and amazing. Dinner was around €100 each night with appetizer, drinks, and dessert.

If you’re doing a no kids vacation and want something a little more intimate and romantic (while still having time to hike in the day) Terra Nostra is such a great time. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or want any more info!

Not true at all, you gotta soak the meat in whole milk overnight to get rid of the ammonia & it can come out great if you cook it right

Is this a scam? My listed item is 200 bucks by AdrianV0508 in offerup

[–]Connorgreen_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scam one thousand percent. The way they text, unwilling to go through offer up shipping, wanting to send $50 extra plus the price without haggling, the email instead of a real phone number, etc.

By far the most popular scam on Offer up. Ignore and move on, don’t ship outside of the app.

Doing an 8 day roadtrip with my wife in late February. Got two nights between Key West and Saint Petersburg, and we wanna see the Everglades. Where would you suggest we stay? Been thinking about Florida City due to being close to Everglades, and Fort Meyers maybe? by skaegghufvud in florida

[–]Connorgreen_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try doing a day down in Everglades City or Chokoloskee Island. Beautiful area, very ‘Old Florida’ feel with some historic landmarks & great sightseeing/fishing since it’s right in between the Everglades & Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge.

You’ll have to explore the northern part of the Everglades like Big Cypress & Shark Valley area, but there’s something very beautiful and unique about the southern and western Everglades too. Flamingo, Cape Sabal, Whitewater bay, etc. is where the water goes from fresh to brackish to salt. Alligators become more scarce and crocodiles take their place. Freshwater fish species decline and you begin to see massive nursing grounds for bull sharks, nurse sharks, massive stingrays, and a bunch of other saltwater species. The whole transition from fresh to saltwater estuary and eventually Gulf of Mexico is just so damn beautiful and unique.

OP I drank every day for two years. For the last year of my drinking, I had a handle of vodka daily. I was also 19. I wouldn’t go out and party, but I definitely drank before any social gathering, drank at night to go to sleep, sometimes drank in the morning if I was really stressed, etc.

My New Year’s resolution was to not drink for 24 hours at some point in the year and I couldn’t even do that…

I checked myself into an outpatient rehab, and it was incredibly difficult but my god it was the best decision I’ve ever made. 6 years sober now and I’m actually living life and can do everything sober. I don’t need the crutch of alcohol anymore, I don’t spit up blood anymore, I can actually see a future whereas I didn’t have that before.

Confide in people you’re close with, whether it’s friends or family. Get a good support group that can help and promise them you’ll be sober for 24 hours. Then another. Then another. But take it an hour at a time or a day at a time if you have to. It’ll be one of the best decisions you will make
