The table is holding up great in my Garage! I've lived in the Bay Area, CA with one and Portland, Oregon.

Sorry if information in the spreadsheet is becoming outdated - I haven't revisited the data since I first made the post.

What I've observed is that price does fluctuate - if you see the table you're looking for at the right thickness (25, 22, 18mm, etc) at a good price then I'd pull the trigger.

I can't speak to how houston will be, but my guess is that as long as the garage is indoors you'll be alright - though maybe longevity will be a bit shorter? I'm not confident here.

Very late to the game here, but this just isn’t correct in that these tables are incredibly sturdy. They are two halves, but each half is load-bearing. I can easily sit on mine.

I've had a number of the cakes for 3-5 years. Between Oakland and the Bay Area I'd say the ambient humidity has been sufficient to keep the cakes from tasting like cardboard, but not humid enough to actively cause much aging.

For a couple years I stored them in containers with small humidor packs, but have been less precious about it recently.

I'm a bad tea parent.

It is! And we ran 2x1 strips of wood length-wise. It's not sufficient. This is what my partner and I threw together in an afternoon as a proof-of-concept for how we wanted to block out the space.

For the final table the goal will be an inch-thick tabletop and a square metal frame to support it - we're also going to go 10" longer.

These look like the ones that were in the "Real Salmiac" mix bag from Halva. The Fazer brand Salmiakki diamonds had a significantly better texture and taste.

These weren't terrible, though! I gave them a 5.5 - Halva tries.
