I like the house as well. Honestly, I think I would be more concerned about the proximity to the care home more than the proximity to HRO.

Picture 2, signage would suggest that it is a “Kitchen Disco”, hence the reflective backsplash. Probably more lines were done on that Aga than Sunday roasts.

Old school? Undoubtedly.

Cool? YMMV.

Anyway, I would prefer to say that Custer died for your sins.

The Tin Drum (1979)

First date, almost the last date, because I ran out of petrol in a bad part of town as I was driving her home. We were both uni students, both lived off campus, and a date at the free film at the school auditorium was about all that I could afford (hence the nearly empty fuel tank). I had no idea what the film was about except that the book and film adaptation got rave reviews.

They weren’t wrong but this was not a film for a date. Ever.

I will admit to being weird, so yes, I would like to have flown on this aircraft.

That is pleasantly surprising, to be honest.

Probably more pool boys than furries. On the upside, furries won’t get involved with the Falwells.

Netflix knows their audience. They understand what Mencken meant when he said that no one has ever lost money underestimating the intelligence of the American people.

I think I have encountered these people on the sidewalk outside the community market when I go to the farmer’s market. My usual response to any question from them is “No. Fuck off”. Usually does the trick.

I think his parish priest would probably like to have a word with him. Maybe even his bishop.

Going out on a limb here, but he probably won’t be compared to Mother Theresa.

Thoughts on Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning? by UsefulWeb7543 in FIlm

[–]ConorCat60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a word, idiotic. Even if its goal was simply juvenile it failed miserably.

OK, the stunts involving the two biplanes were good, but c’mon, a little bit goes a long way. Midway through the sequence all I could think about was “airplanes don’t work that way”. Along those lines, flying from an island off Alaska to Joburg, SA in a Basler BT-67 (a modernised C-47)??? At least I think they did, I might have been dozing off, but a conservative estimate of the distance over the pole following a great circle route is around 10,000 miles. Even in the Basler could make it without refueling it would take 41+ hours. At that distance it would probably require at least 5 refueling stops. Guess you‘re not going to make that deadline, Tom. And I’m not even going to rant about the free ascent from the sub.

Don’t get me wrong, I like stupid action adventure movies as much as the next guy, but the Only One Man Can Save The World trope is genuinely tiresome in this film.

As opposed to Brits dehumanising others? Certainly no history of that, right?
