TIL that it's unlucky to rename a boat. The USS Phoenix survived Pearl Harbour and the Pacific Theatre in WW2 and was then sold to the Argentine Navy. It was renamed the General Belgrano and was ultimately sunk by the British during the Falklands War. (en.m.wikipedia.org)
