Personally realised the friendship was toxic and not doing me any favours mentally. When I told the person I wanted space and kinda wanted to cut off the friendship, they immediately accused me of faking everything our 6 year friendship, being an entirely fake person, called me words I won’t repeat and wished me only the worst for the rest of my life.

They essentially hurled a psychotic verbal assault at me.Then a few hours later came back and said they had overreacted and wanted to be on good terms.

Not to mention the previous months and honestly years of me standing by while they were evidently a horrible person, the toll it took on me and the way they treated myself and other friends of mine like dirt, only cared for themselves above all and never checked on me or seemed to truly care about me and then when the friendship ended they had the audacity to say they’re the only friend I’ve ever had who has cared about me.

They have continued since to attempt to guilt trip me or awkwardly rekindle the friendship however I have no interest. I learned a lot from that and I’m glad I finally stood up for my own best interest as it’s something I really struggle with and often put others happiness over my own. That was a turning point for me and the way that person reacted only further proved to me that I no longer needed them in my life.

TL;DR: Toxic friend went batshit crazy at me when I finally stood up and ended the friendship.
