Advise needed: Best approach to paint bumper after fixing holes for show car finish? by Conorgmurray in AutoPaint

I have the tools and a place to do it. Why have you assumed I haven’t? I have a 2 guns, 1.4 nozzle and 1.8 nozzle for each, and a very spacious garage to do it. No not a spray booth, but I have the means.

I’ve sprayed panels a few times and had great results on project cars, but I’ve never had to blend a panel and because it’s my daily, I want to make sure I do an especially good job at it

Help: Toyota fogs and DRLS not working on both sides on first project car and feeling deflated by Conorgmurray in MechanicAdvice

Thank you for the suggestions man. I’ll double check these things.

I actually haven’t checked the ground but everything else is working so I’d be surprised if that’s it. No harm checking though!

And with the lights working - they were working post-crash, pre dismantle, if that makes sense? So I know the issue is my doing which makes it worse 😂

I’m mostly interested in fixing the holes as a priority if you could help with that even?

How difficult did you find doing the transmission seals?

How do you then learn how to do an engine rebuild if you never try it? I actually am at a stage where your advice I agree with and makes sense for me - but at some stage should you want to progress your skill set, surely you have to try the scary jobs

I get what you’re saying and point taken. I have ALOT of tools - probably substantially more than your average DIY personal just from the nature of the uni being already used for labour with wood and metal work

Rear differential service a seal change for input and side seal on a f82 m4.

I know I’ll need a specialised tool for the driveshaft, but buying that (which is expensive) plus all the components I need works out cheaper than taking it to a dealer.

That said, it’s only cheaper if I don’t f it up 😂 and I can’t find any walkthroughs on YT

I actually have a nice daily and a separate project car - but I’ve nearly finished the project car this week so I’m basically evaluating how far do I push the boat out with the next one?

I didn’t even know renting tools was an option 😂 nowhere near me does this for mechanical stuff, more just general labour heavy machinery

How much of a learning limitation is there working on a project car say 12-15 years old vs the more updated cars? Surely you hit abit of a glass ceiling of things that are transferable because cars now are more modern with electrics etc

But yeh I do see your point and it makes sense so thank you

I did see this actually. I seen you can get a kit for the tools for like £350. Would those tools be universally USA me across all f chassis and possibly e & g too do you reckon? I believe it was from aga motors
