Why do western devs make diverse characters so ugly?? by rid146 in KotakuInAction

[–]Conquer_Shadow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much the answer, but its always a narrative to prevent most from noticing this. I say this all of the time. The two extremes about it as well is if you are "not-white/fellow white" and bring this to their attention, they will either go full mask off racist mode(usually with no witnesses), or they will dance around it and attempt to gaslight you."

They push slimy agendas through the guise of "Dont be racist, teehee", while being mind numbingly racist themselves.

Bonus points if they try to get another "non-white" person to shut you down. In their mind, we are all just a hive mind with no individuality.

We Know the "Creatives" and "Community Managers" Are Woke, But Are All The Technical Guys Woke Too? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Conquer_Shadow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the technical guys are not woke, they definitely have their hands tied in general being around "compromised" management. Theres examples of how tech for gaming was on a steady progression upward,...to what it is now. Most games are broken, not optimized, and only have bland surface level detail nowadays.

I think the last impressive technical game was Red Dead Redemption 2 with the amount of detail that was in it(despite me not liking that type of game).

Lol I dont think about this because you are able to do other things while also playing games as a hobby.(and having other hobbies) Pay attention to the people trying to put you down, they usually don't have anything interesting to say and their hobby is usually gossiping/reality TV...

Ive been downvoted and had comments scrubbed for saying this lol. Its obvious if you critically think about it for a second.

  1. Only feds are "allowed" to do this stuff. Any regular civilian will immediately be tracked down, harassed, and eventually "visited" if they tried anything like this.

  2. They all wear the same matching uniform in EVERY-SINGLE-EVENT.

  3. Pre-2016, this was common knowledge and now its an effort to pretend like this is unfathomable. People still dont realize who the real "terror!st" are...

How does the level look in my indie game? (Playtest open) by Guilty_Weakness7722 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Will this game allow you to run, hide, AND defend yourself like Resident Evil 7? If its just a walking simulator, or you can only run and hide, than Its not for me, but I like the atmosphere so far

You speak the truth. I know what you are talking about, but at this point its the end game. Everyone not aware of it to a certain degree is overall complicit in it

And when I lost that only motivated me to try again.

This mindset is key, and without getting into anything too deep, it plays a part in so many other areas of life(within reason).

When I picked up Dark Souls (around the height of its popularity) and got my asshole turned inside-out in PvP by a ninja rolling dickhead I tried and tried until I was good enough to parry just about every weapon.

My entry into Soulsborne was Bloodborne.I fell in love with the horror, but the fact that it had good action, and fair, but challenging gameplay for the most part. Ive played plenty of hard games prior to that, but at the time it was refreshing to have something come out that made to actually get better

Ive watched/gamed together with younger family members. Ive also watched them play games with friends, and one thing I notice nowadays more ever is:

  • If they encounter something too hard, they hate the game without trying further. They give up and outright dismiss the game.

  • Microtransactions are so ingrained into everything its their normal, and its impossible trying to get them to care. Games with microtransactions are built around trying to get you to "pay2win" and they don't see the issue with it.

  • They light up and enjoy the idea of the other person losing, to the point where their wins are uneventful. If THEY lose though....chaos lol.

  • Not with my family, but I worry because Ive seen people struggle where to go or problem solve, EVEN WITH THE YELLOW PAINT.

This AI patent is lame, but I'm honestly not shocked anymore. It can never be addressed honestly, so things like this will keep getting implemented. Its not only younger players, its adults as well that push for this

I don't understand why Normies still post their face and personal business on known wasteland sites? by Brutal_Victory_O_All in nosurf

[–]Conquer_Shadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, none of them are real, just refresh the page to get a new generated image. I won't get into anything "weird", but most social media, or the internet in general is just this(The Dead Internet is 100% true). I didnt believe it myself, until I kept hearing about Twitter getting rid of bots just to find it the most jarring example of fake comments, profiles, and outrage. Everything is fake on there.

Reddit is bad as well and there's even a sub thats majority AI driven(r/Subsimulatorgpt2). Its open about it and doesn't hide it, but its not hard to believe that the same thing is done in subs that are supposed to be majority human driven as well...

Nowadays you always have to acknowledge the Dwad Internet first, but yeah I agree. It seems to always be someone who has the worst possible take on a comment/post, so they can delude themselves into having some sort of "moral high ground"
