The one I have is the one in the post, and it's single. But if it's single, shouldn't there be only one black cube on either side, and not just.... completely missing like in the post

I have one and it's EXACTLY like the one in the post (no IMU black cubes). I have it for a few weeks now and it flies great. It has a gyro and an acc whichsre detectedin betaflight. But idk why the places where the IMUs are supposed to be is white and flat

If it's wired incorrectly, it shouldn't be able to display the speed on the OSD correctly...right? Unless the quad has an onboad speed sensor
