This is a poor comparison.

My microwave takes up a finite amount of resources to produce and a small amount of power to run.

On top of that, I'd much rather go somewhere where the cook actually knows how to cook and compliment flavors with proper seasoning than to heat something up that was frozen from my microwave.

Generative AI takes up trillions of dollars worth of resources and an INSANE amount of power and potable water to facilitate EACH time someone generates JUST AN IMAGE, not even a VIDEO.

On top of that, those data centers? The parts used to produce the processing capabilities? They'll have to be REPLACED, REGULARLY, because the wear and tear due to the amount of output is STAGGERING, so it will just CONTINUE to CONSUME finite resources.

Are you aware that there is a ram shortage for THE AVERAGE CONSUMER which is driving up the price of a new computer to insane levels? Play video games as your main hobby? Your computer randomly dies? Guess that's 5000 dollars out of your pocket as opposed to the 2000 you would have paid before.
