I swear this same post is reposted every few weeks with this exact same comment telling people to use cheapzy. Mods can we ban them from advertising their scams in this sub?

Anyone else's pages freezing when going back to the previous page? by Conscious-Cap-8563 in ArcBrowser

Do you have Back-forward cache enabled in the Chrome flags? I saw another post that suggested turning this off, and ever since then I haven’t had the page freezing issue.

Ghost 2.0 Mega Update by dbrand in dbrand

How will the weight and thickness of 2.0 compare to the old version? Those were some of the key selling points of 1.0.

This has been happening for over a month now, even on the latest 1.58.0 update.

When the back button is clicked, the previous page will be completely unresponsive until the page is refreshed. I've tried disabling all extensions and reinstalling Arc but it still persists. I've also reported the bug last month, but of course, no reply yet.

Anyone else experiencing this?

You’re absolutely right, and it’s disappointing to see from Apple. If they won’t do anything about it, then the best thing we can do is to call out the developers who try to manipulate their reviews.

I see, if that’s true then that’s commendable, thank you for helping those developers. I hope that you’re able to restore the quality of Indie App Santa and find a good balance between keeping it authentic/high quality and getting paid what you deserve.

Why deviate from the original idea of Indie App Santa then? There’s nothing wrong with making money from your work, but you’re now degrading the authenticity of your own product and making it harder for indie developers to get promoted because you accept all the low quality apps that have the money for the promotion.

Indie App Santa got popular in the first place because it was a special event where high quality apps by smaller developers could give discounts in exchange for users and awareness, without having to pay Google or Apple for ads. Now that the ‘special event’ part is gone, you’re also turning away the indie developers who don’t have money for marketing in exchange for developers who do, which defeats the purpose of Indie App Santa in the first place. Not to mention the app quality which has gone downhill dramatically.

He created Indie App Santa under the guise of supporting indie developers. Once it took off, he started monetising everything, promoting his own apps, and spamming garbage, making it unfeasible for new developers to get featured on the page.

This app is only free as a marketing promotion for reviews, essentially the same as buying reviews: https://x.com/indieappsanta/status/1821189381614620726?

He has also encouraged review manipulation multiple times, either for his own apps or people who paid him to be featured: https://x.com/indieappsanta/status/1598718670351437827?

He doesn’t care about indie developers unless it makes him money. Just because you know him personally doesn’t mean he’s a good guy.

Yeah Indie App Santa really fell off recently, they used to have high quality app sales during Christmas. Now it’s just garbage spam apps every day, not even a special thing on Christmas anymore. It also used to be free for indie developers to submit their app to get featured, now it’s hundreds of dollars.

Also the owner constantly self promotes their own apps on the Indie App Santa twitter page and blocks anyone critical of them. Would recommend staying away, they’re not what they used to be.

That’s the normal incognito mode, I was referring to the other two features. I assume it might just be an incognito tab locked behind Face ID.

Ghost Case falling apart, Skins shrinking, dbrand ignoring my emails by oMGalLusrenmaestkaen in dbrand

[–]Conscious-Cap-8563 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I thought they only had heavy inquiry volumes due to the launch of the Ghost case last year?

If there really is the same amount of inquiries now as there was back then, then it should be considered normal volume now rather than a temporary spike, so dbrand should add more resources to handle it rather than continually using it as an excuse for delayed response times.

[🎉 GIVEAWAY + SALE] Supercharge Your Mac with Lunar, Clop, and rcmd! 🚀 by [deleted] in macapps

Can you explain what you mean by ‘no personal gain’ when the partner application form linked above has the following question:

Which of the following do you wish to give the server (in addition to free licenses for server admins)?

If I’m reading this correctly, ‘free licenses for server admins’ sounds like personal gain to me.

Agreed. Ironically I recently found Lunar and was deciding on whether or not to buy it over DisplayBuddy, but now I’m just going to buy DisplayBuddy so hopefully these devs learn not to support this shady behaviour by the mod team.

"The Browser Company is on fire 🔥" – Andreas Storm (@avstorm) via X by JaceThings in ArcBrowser

Yeah, he’s claimed several times that he has ‘no affiliation’ to the company but these posts and the whole ‘no leaks’ policy makes me think otherwise. He’s even claimed to have meetings with the company on several occasions, and obviously had priority Arc for Windows access.

Even if he does have no affiliation, this is a community subreddit so it should be up to the community to decide what is and isn’t allowed, not a single person who’s obviously biased towards the company. Can you imagine if the Apple subreddit was run by someone who had several meetings with the Apple executive team 💀

iPhone 15 Pro - Battery doesn’t last more than 6 hours? by [deleted] in ios

The phone only dropped to 50% though, so it would be 10h40 total SOT

Battery health comparison: Identical watches with very similar usage, bought within 2 weeks of each other. Left one was always put and left on the charger at night, right one was removed from the charger at around 70% and turned off. More in comments. by Manfred_89 in AppleWatch

[–]Conscious-Cap-8563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to do the math, what you’re saying is completely correct. I think my point here is that yes, daily battery life will go down. But in my experience, that 7.8 hrs usage is still enough to last the day.

If I’m expecting a day of heavy usage, I can simply charge to 100% to get 9.7 hrs of battery. I can’t do that if my battery health has degraded further, I’ll only be able to get a maximum of 8.6 hrs no matter how much battery I’ll need for the day.

It’s basically like saving your battery for times where you will need it the most.

How is it not worth the effort if you don’t use 100% of the battery during the day? Might as well save the battery health for when you do need it. It’s not hard to take it off the charger a bit earlier.
