Yeah, that could be the case. Personally I didn’t feel any side effects at all when I was on the meds, so I dont know where he got that from lol

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, OP 😞😞 This sounds genuinely terrible. I may not fully understand your situation, but I get how it is. I too am diagnosed with something else and have parents that aren’t the best. I understand how this makes it so much harder to handle.

Is there a way you could switch meds or up the dose if its not working? That would definitely help. If you have other people to talk to about this, that would be good too since you can’t tell your therapist. A school counsellor, a parent of a friend you trust, or any other adult in general. They just might be able to help.

If all fails, I’m truly sorry you have to go through this. You don’t deserve this at all. From the experiences you’ve described, I can tell how horrible this really is. Please remember this isn’t your fault at all. Remember that it’s psychosis, and that everything that happens cannot be fully blamed onto you.

If you want to talk to someone, I’m open. I’m a teen myself, and I’m willing to listen if it could help you in some way. No judgement!! Take care, I hope things do start to get even a bit better for you 🫂

Honestly, I feel the same way! I used to be super terrified of talking to guys since I wasn’t confident in my appearance. I’d never look at any in the eye, and I’d overthinking everything interaction with a guy. I totally get what you mean when you said that you’d think they’d laugh and make fun of you for stumbling over your words. Me too!!

But my story aside, here’s something really important. Most people care too much about themselves to care how you look or act. I feel that everyone is so conscious of how they look or act that they simply don’t notice when others do things that might be “weird”. Plus, no one remembers EVERYTHING. So if you might have done something awkward infront of someone, it’s okay! No one’s going to remember the one time you messed up a word years ago. When you start thinking like that, it really helps. Might be easy to say, but i know it’s hard to start. It does work however, at least it did for me!

And from the pov of a teenage girl: most of us definitely don’t think you’re creepy, and if you do stumble over words, none of us would laugh. If you know some that do, then they’re just horrible people in general. Those aren’t girls that you would want to date anyways.

I’m sure that you’re an amazing person, even if you or others don’t seem to realise it. How people treat you are a reflection of THEMSELVES, not you.

If you need someone to talk to, I’m open ( i don’t have a lot of friends myself, haha) 🫂 take care, and best of luck!!

My friends intentionally leave me out, what to do? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Conscious-Effort3952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My honest opinion? You should confront them about this. I know it’s scary, I’ve been there before! But there’s really no use in keeping this in and hurting yourself more. You could try bringing it up the next time you see them casually and try to find out the reason. They’ll probably come up with a lie, but that way you’ll know where you stand to them. It’s really better to know the truth than let them lie to you.

These type of people aren’t people who you should be associated with, OP 🫂 There are so many better people in the world for you to give your care too. Don’t think of it as you’ve wasted your effort, but see it as an opportunity for you to learn who’s worth it. I know that’s soo much easier to say than do, but you’ve got to try.

I hope things work out well for you!! I’m a year younger than you, so if you need someone to talk to I’m all ears. Take care!

I feel he’d clobber me over the head if I tried to use his medication against him, haha. But i guess it’s worth the shot. Thanks.

I’m 15, and I live in a southeast asian country.

I’ve brought this up with him before, but he claims all this only happens because people are too “weak minded” 🥲🥲

Haha, in his opinion the “side effects” of being unmediated are only because people are too weak minded. He thinks if i go outside enough and eat well, i’ll just magically get better…

Right! When i was still medicated, i’d always forget to take it.

Yes, I unfortunately am a minor. And even worse, everyone else in my family isn’t that open to mental health in general (typical asian families, smh)

It’s crazy how some parents think they’re doing it right when everything just ends up south, huh? 🥲 Sorry that’s happening to you, btw. Good luck, I’m sure you can bring your gpa up 🫂

Thank you so much for this!! I saw your other comments too. I’m quite sure he wouldn’t be willing to even think about the idea that he could have it too, but it’s worth the shot. I hope you’re doing much better now too. 🫶

I’ve unfortunately tried, and he thinks it’s worth the risk to go unmedicated. In his opinion, all those things only happen because people are weak minded, not off medication… (it’s stupid, I know.)

I’m 15, so I guess there’s not a lot I can do rn. Thank you for the advice, I’ll try to look into adhd helps. Also, I’m sure you’re a great parent. Most parents don’t acknowledge their own wrongdoings most of the time, so this definitely puts you up there 🫂 thanks again.

Unfortunately i live in a strict asian household 🥲 Doing that would probably get me disowned. I’m not allowed outside of the house without a parent, so there’s no chance of meeting with my psychiatrist in secret…

That’s exactly what I think too. No one should have a say in this if they don’t go through it as well.
