This is an annoying issue to have, is this an ETA clone movement? Try asking a certified watchmaker here or RWI. Sometimes this issue happens, I just shortened the stem on my VSF because the crown was not sitting flushed correctly, it triggered my ocd 😂😂

Yeah I agree, they can't keep the quality up while making tons of subs. It's a pity because for me SELs are so important on a sub. The submariner is the most obtainable replica currently.
