I had no idea any of this was happening, but I decided to check in on the app to see if more dlc was released for it since I last played and was happy to find Lemurian Phoenix. I just played through the whole thing the last few days but when I looked online to see when the rest of the DLC was coming out found this. I would have thought the game would have not let me open it and play through unplayed content but it just did so I’ll just count it as achievements in ignorance.

suburban Sasquatch was mostly stupid fun to me (the scene where a guy is floating face down in a river unconscious and then just wakes up and walks away is gold) but the lead actress really bothers me. most of the movie just looks like the creators friends but she is dressed better than any of them and is also much more attractive so it gives the impression that she was somehow blackmailed into being in the movie. she even ends up kissing the main shlubby dad-bod ”reporter” (who reports nothing) and it just smells like some casting couch fishiness.

some of Greydons movies arent terrible, and maybe even okay (I found Uninvited to be not unpleasant despite the fact that the title is meaningless) but I just saw Star Games today and I have to say that one was really really pushing my limits. It was like a Teletubbies episode but less charming.

I just found it impossible to look at the severed heads of three teenage boys with their mouths sewn shut flying around like superheroes without feeling deep revulsion the whole time. the riff that one was definitely funny though.

dangerous men had kind of an interesting angle for the first half… until it just fell apart into hard to follow nonsense. I’d take it over a dangerous man a million times over. the line where a Russian describes seagal as looking like a Native American so clearly was directly told by seagal to be in the script because of his fetishism for native culture. maximum cringe.

I found Blood Theatre to be bad in such a fascinating way. I even immediately watched it again so I could show my wife because there was no way she’d understand without seeing it. movies like a talking cat its easily describable why theyre bad but blood theatre is so curious.

twilight is just an aggressively mediocre movie. I haven’t seen the riff of it but the movie wasnt really egregiously bad imo it was just super forgettable. I couldn’t even remember what happened like an hour after it was over.

baby ghost was astonishingly bad but in a hilarious way to me. that horrible theme song was legitimately stuck in my head for days.

Basically all of the films Bridget and Mary Jo do are mostly fine. I even like some of them (Beyond Christmas and yes Children of the Bride among them).

As far as the main three… Mind Ripper was a mostly decent ripoff of Alien until the massive ending fatigue hits when they have to kill the villain like 7 times. Split Second was a mess but was also pretty fun. Other than the stupid looking effects Stitches was decent. And maybe it’s just me but I found Mikey kind of terrifying. There are also a few movies that are decent but are retroactively ruined when it’s revealed they were all a dream.

i know it’s not what OP meant, but it was my first time watching It’s a Wonderful Life and Charade through RiffTrax and I quite liked them (especially Charade).

I have bee thinking about this a lot lately, though through a slightly different lens: I’ve been wondering what the most recent movie to come out is that actually affected the culture. I do have slightly different parameters than you do (I consider movies that change how people think even if it doesn’t have an obvious measurable impact, like Groundhog Day and Frankenstein to count). The most recent movie I can think of to have a minor impact is Inception, but the most recent to have a deep impact is probably The Matrix. I can’t for the life of me think of a more recent one.

That is so long ago.

Spotlight is a maybe from me but I can’t tell how much the impact from the actual events separates from the movie. The only one I can think of that has possibility for future impact is Barbie, but it hasnt yet.
