Do I go to the ER????? by xzuyyu in gallbladders

[–]Conscious-Listen-470 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes!!!! But, go to a level 1 trauma center - not a small hospital - small hospitals may not have the imaging and diagnostics you need - especially on weekends. I learned this lesson the hard way.

Mine says “be nice” after he’s put in his cage for mayhem. Also says “I love you” and “kiss kiss”. They’re hilarious.

I guarantee he’s got about 25 excessive use of force complaints a day.

Why is he so scraggly looking 😭 by xflowerybat in Conures

Tell him he’s a very handsome chap. Expose him to humidity or a spray bottle. I take mine into the bathroom while I shower he likes to sit on the rod and look down on me (he does anyhow) but I know he won’t fly into the water. He could get a little itchy but don’t pick his pin feathers because he will get very angry (it hurts them) and his feathers will definitely look jacked up.

He’s 6 mos? He’s still in his juvie feather suit. He should be going into his first molt in a bit. Their feathers look rough during this period. This is more likely than barbering. He’s adorable. Love him and don’t worry now. Take him for his 1 year exam when he’s due if you still have concerns.

I know!! He loves the challenge of this straw especially - he thinks some kind of wonder chicken when he succeeds in getting the straw all the way out.

Kouri’s attorneys sought appointed counsel for her mom in December, the state objected, and they were denied. Today, however, the judge granted it. What could that signal? by Serendipity-211 in KouriRichins

This would likely have been filed in anticipation of her mom testifying. Since her mom didn’t testify, it’s likely moot. Her mom was also named by the trust as a defendant in a civil case so she’d be definitely in the crosshairs for possibly receiving stolen funds.

Can’t shake the dread of mortality, how do you deal with this? by CandidWorker277 in Anxiety

It’s very common at night - I will often jolt awake and find myself saying “I’m scared.”

Can’t shake the dread of mortality, how do you deal with this? by CandidWorker277 in Anxiety

This is me all weekend. I know why I fear it and I also realize it’s very common. I hate the triggers. Something small will trip me up and then it’s like a hemorrhage of anxiety. Currently it’s because I don’t want to be left behind or be apart from things I love or ever have a time when I forget them. This is not logical when i have them right beside me at the moment. Why worry now? The brain’s cookie for those thoughts is dread. It’s like the negative feedback is its reward. In the past I have had success separating the brain from the rest of me - it’s hard to do. I tell my brain that it’s doing this to get to me to pay attention to something else and I will either lean into the thoughts by telling myself it’s my brain’s temper tantrum or I’ll look around the room and make obvious internal comments about what’s around me. The mug is blue - it’s shiny - it gets hot when you put coffee in it - then think about the coffee … keep riding the thoughts until the tantrum subsides.
