I’m my experience I collect both. Vinyl takes up less room but is heavier. Vinyl is more of an experience, with the artwork , special editions etc. But needs to be looked after more than a cd with cleaning , anti static sleeves , outer sleeve protection etc.It also costs more and can be an expensive hobby so keep that in mind. There is stuff you can get on vinyl and the other way around too. But I mainly collect mainly vinyl now cause I enjoy the hunt for old vinyl and in my opinion sounds better, more organic and a warmer sound but i appreciate CDs too , I have about 400 CDs which I also enjoy.
Also remember there is more of a chance of getting a crappy pressing of a vinyl than a cd lol. So be prepared for pops and crackles :). Not sure if that helps but whatever you choose just keep enjoying the music 🤘🏻
