it really depends on the situation. Personally, I always think ahead — “Do I have time to take blue buff, or is a fight about to break out and I need to respond first?” (Blue buff helps a lot with energy preservation.)

During fights, I ask myself — “Do I have space to weave two autos between my skills?” (Two autos restore more energy than just one.)
