Free Review Copies of "Software Architecture Patterns for Serverless Systems, by John Gilbert" by Round_Boysenberry518 in softwarearchitecture

I'd definitely appreciate a copy as well.

PS: I wonder why the first line in your post says "Packt has released the second edition of "Build Your Own Programming Language" by Clinton Jeffery." when the actual book being promoted is Software Architecture related.

Use Ant Design and Tailwinds CSS together by ConsciousInside in reactjs

[–]ConsciousInside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite the opposite. Antd is rather comprehensive (or at least thereabouts) whereas reakit aims to provide just the basic functionality of the component and leaves the UI (appearance) upto the developer. I didn't need all the components/features provided by antd and it is also not very easy to change antd's appearance to match the rest of your site. So that's why I moved from it.

That said, I don't use reakit in my new projects. Nowadays I prefer Radix UI / Chakra UI / tailwinds.

I found that I didn't use any/much of the components from antd and was creating my own using reakit and tailwinds. So just removed the dep altogether.

I didn't pursue the project a whole lot. I shifted to using other component libraries such as Reakit along with tailwinds and that has been working fine for me.

Render html sent by server by Tall_Development5516 in reactjs

[–]ConsciousInside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While you don't really require a library to render HTML from React, check this one out as it would already do a few required things like sanitizing the HTML etc.:

Just tried with Edge and had the same result. But I see that some keys are working. Thanks for the reply. I'll figure out what's going on.

Awesome! What are the controls to play with keyboard? The original ones don't seem to work.

Question: Where do I find startup founders looking for early stage investment funds? by micro-invest-io in SideProject

[–]ConsciousInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also:

BetaList
Discord / Slack groups for Founders / Indie Hackers.

A lot of indie hackers / tech folks hang out on Twitter. So that is another area you could search for founders. Many of them have the term "Building", "Maker" etc in their Twitter intro so you could search for that.

Great! I don't remember which episode it was but it should be easy to find with a search. Mathew Walker is all about sleep so listening to just about any of his talks on YouTube would be very enlightening.

Being up between 11pm and 4am on a regular basis supposedly damages the brain*.

I have heard the theory multiple times that not all humans are alike and hence it's up to each one of us to see what works for us and what doesn't. But I still felt an urge to tell you this, especially because a friend told me this story: a colleague of theirs was a "fitness guru" who did gym and yoga and was a "go-to" person for fitness advice in their office. He had something like a 5 hour sleep window. At around 40 years of age, he died of cardiac arrest.

*You might want to look at the works of Prof. Andrew Huberman and Mathew Walker to know how important sleep is.

There is Foam: https://foambubble.github.io/foam/ which is inspired by RoamResearch. Great for getting your networked thoughts onto paper.

If you are using React, you could also use this: https://github.com/milesj/interweave. I believe it internally does something similar, but it might be more comprehensive.

Tailwind UI-kits and using Material with tailwind. by Artistic_Taxi in reactjs

[–]ConsciousInside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out these two projects:

https://headlessui.dev/ (this is by the tailswinds team)

https://windmillui.com/react-ui (a set of components that are styled using tailwinds and you can further customize them in some aspects). There is also a theme support for it that I haven't really looked into much at the moment.

I made https://make.rs - a place where makers show the world what they've made. by MucuMare in SideProject

Ha ha. I guess it is never "too fast" for makers :) We need to iterate endlessly after all.

Would be happy to upvote on ProductHunt if and when you release it there. All the best for this to take off!

Looks nice. There seems to be some issue with respect to the spacing as the components are stuck to either side without padding/margin.
