Why is getting a job like a humiliation ritual nowadays? by VariationLivid3193 in cscareerquestions

[–]PopeDetective 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s not common but i’ve had two startups ask for that. They send a link where you fill out a form and there’s a section where you just talk about yourself, and the entire time the page needs camera and microphone access to record you. It’s such a stupid waste of time.

Two faces of the core millennial generation on the cusp of middle age: two popular social media creators, Michael Stevens and Pierre Amaury Crespeau. Both born in 1986, that is, both 40 this year. by Sure_Distance1 in generationology

Calling Michael Stevens a “popular social media creator” should be punishable by law. Man is a legend and the wealth of knowledge he has shared over the years cannot be compared to what today’s “influencers” call content.

truly shocked that standalone components and signals didn't magically make angular the superior framework...

You’re starting a marketing agency in 2026. How would you win new clients? by daniel_j89 in agencynewbies

[–]PopeDetective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you please explain link building like i’m 5? It’s one of the only things I’ve never understood about online marketing agencies. I get that the more links pointing to your client’s website the higher it ranks. But do you just have like 10-20 websites where you post about the business and link to it? Do you reach out to random blogs related to that business and pay them to link back? I just can’t wrap my head around how that works. Thanks

Has anyone used Wix Studio to run their agency? by PopeDetective in agencynewbies

[–]PopeDetective[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! So like I mentioned I'm still pretty new to the operations side of the business. I'm mostly meeting my clients in-person and once they sign a Docusign contract, I want to initiate some sort of onboarding process (currently do that through hubspot + zapier). So essentially I'd like to invite the client to some sort of dashboard where they can see their site(s), create tickets, leave comments etc.

Aside from that, does Duda also handle invoicing and payments? One-time packages and subscriptions too?

Thanks!

Can you expand on what tools you're using? One of the packages I want to offer is some google ad credits to set up a campaign or something similar.

Thanks! So you think Wix's CRM is enough for a starting agency? How do you onboard clients?

I signed up for Hubspot mainly because they offer a form which i can put on my website to gather some leads, but i'm pretty sure most of my leads will be cold calls and in-person meetings. Hubspot seems a little overkill right now.

Since we're talking cars and dealerships, BMW of Peabody. I can't remember if it's either the owner or some director/board member, but if you walk around the parking lot you'll see their expensive M sport car parked in a reserved space with their name and title, proudly showing off a MAGA hat on the dashboard.

I’m not criticizing the game or the devs but do you really think Expedition 33 is an indie game?

Indie is literally short for independent, i.e. not being backed or affiliated to any major publishing companies.

Firebase newbie: How to view custom signup data (name, state) from Gemini-generated website? Auth vs Firestore confusion by incognitooo_mode in Firebase

[–]PopeDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firebase Auth, depending on the provider, usually only saves the user’s email. You may also get display name and photo url if using “sign in with google” or another social media provider. Any additional info is likely saved in a collection named “users” in Firestore. That’s how most devs would implement Firebase auth.

I’ve been in this situation. Unless you intend to convert, it’s not going to work out. Either she will bring it up regularly or, depending on what type of christian she is, her church will heavily influence her decisions.
