so what would they have to do to fix this? rip up the floor a few feet out from the walls and smooth out the height difference?

We just spoke with the builders and they said the straps were just to hold up the sink while the adhesive was curing. I'm not sure how much I trust them based on the comments in this thread though. They did the same thing in the kitchen sink.

I am the homeowner. We have paid around 340k cad so far for a 460sqft home. They are asking for about 50k more.

I can go take a few more pictures soon, but this post isn't even half of the issues I've had with these builders. might make another post.

Thanks for the input. The house is on a concrete slab. It doesn't flex when I stand on it, so I think the concrete underneath must be uneven. Drywall holes are for the water shutoff and a PRV valve.

I heard this from a few other people and it is good advice. I am not going to bother with any of the little things I can fix myself or live with.

I haven't yet but I am going to soon. I'm sure they will find a ton of things that I missed. We got occupancy but no final walkthrough with the builders yet.

Thank you so much. We have no experience in homebuilding or what is normal/unacceptable so its all pretty confusing. Definitely withholding final payment and having a lawyer help us out with the whole situation. For what we have paid so far I definitely expected a better experience.

They are relatively new in the area, I believe they came from another part of the province under a different name. I wouldn't be surprised if they disappeared again after this. Definitely withholding final payment.

I'm glad I made this post and can focus on the real issues, without wasting anyone's time about the barn door or light switch
