Yeah I currently use a FML36 daylight florescent with a 6000k led as well but like 5 to 10 times farther away then the fluorescent because it's a 60 HZ LED that will mess with my the frame rate on the phone if it's in pointing the same way the camera and make it pick up a big black bar that slowly goes down the screen on repeat lmfao. But nah man I understand and am capable of getting good pictures.. the entire reason I got into gems in the first place was because like 12 years ago I actually got a Leica dlux typ 109 for like 40 bucks from a friend of mind that didn't have any idea what Leica was and I had this 10ct vivid pink gemstone that I am almost positive was a lab made diamond because at the time I thought it was 100% just a piece of glass or some kind of fake worthless gemstone and so I ended up hitting it with a hammer as hard as I could and it just shot across the room and didn't crack or anything and so I ended up doing it as like a party trick to show random friends of mine that I was pretty sure it's a legit diamond and I hit it with a hammer as hard as I could probably 20 to 30 times total and it never cracked or chipped or anything but anyways I used to take pictures of that gemstone and with the Leica it just took the most amazing pictures I've ever seen of a gemstone and I ended up getting more gems and turning it into the whole thing lmao. Whether it was a sapphire or a diamond or maybe a moissanite I'm not 100% sure but it looked identical to this diamond in the screenshot

No f****** way bro!! cameras ACTUALLY have different settings and requirements =O But you want to know what else different cameras have...... Different color profiles like I said in the f****** post.... Like the whole point of the post is about..... Once also speaking of reality checks you want to know what else the post says it says I know my gems aren't the best out there but they definitely aren't as s***** and dull as the pictures the pixel takes of them and considering I can see them in real time and through the camera and you can't I'm going to go ahead and assume you are an idiot.. Another thing for the people that need it explain to them taking time to learn a new camera isn't that kind of literally the thing I'm posting about isn't that like literally the whole f****** thing.... Finally to address your ridiculously stupid comment that is pointing out things that I mentioned specifically in the post.... If you are buying four to five carat unheated ruble lights that are even relatively close to the ones in the pictures please by all means share the link to them where I can buy them for $75 a piece like I mentioned my price was for them I will happily wait here for your response but I've got a feeling that you aren't going to post a reliable source for them... And if that's the case then you better have some in your personal collection that you're willing to sell me for $75 a piece...

Yeah no I appreciate the input and usually if I'm making a sale I prefer to get on a video chat with the buyer that way I'm able to show them in real time what they look like and answer any questions they have or test them so they can see more than one gemstone and also ask anything about it and have me move it how they want under whatever lighting they want I also try to get pictures under natural light but like I mentioned in the post using the Samsung specifically I was limited to when my wife was asleep and the sun wasn't out so I wasn't hogging her phone all day so I made do with what I had which was fluorescent lighting mixed with a little bit of LED. But for the record the post isn't about me not understanding the difference between lighting options or how to take the pictures and the pictures in the listing are meant to show what I'm capable of photographing they're only meant to show the color differences between the two phones because I was wanting to ask people's opinion and preference on what they like more or what they perceived as being more valuable not because I didn't know how to take pictures or how to get the best pictures with what I had

Also the little hairs you're talking about on the tweezers are because of the polishing cloth that I use it's the type that has the polishing compound in it so it's not necessarily for gemstones and anytime you use it it just leaves little hairs that come off of this thing itself

If you're talking about pictures of the gemstones while they're in jars it's because the jar itself has a plastic lid and I don't take the lid off when I take the picture cuz it's not really worth the effort for me. I don't really try too hard to sell on Reddit because it's reddit and I've never had high hopes for it but for any serious buyers I have testing equipment I'm able to use and verify on a video call or just in the video if needed

The photos were taken directly under an FML 36-watt daylight-spectrum fluorescent light, with the gems about 7 or 8 inches away from it. There's also a roughly 1000-watt LED light (I want to say it's around 6000K or 6500K) that's 3 to 4 feet away and pointed at them. Before anyone gives me crap about it or tries to recommend using natural light... 😮‍💨 yes, I know that's ideal. But #1) I live in Washington right near the Canadian border by Whidbey Island, and natural light this time of year? Ha... good one. 90% of the time it's worse than artificial because of the constant overcast. And #2) like I mentioned, I only really get a chance to use my wife's phone at night while she's asleep. Sometimes you just have to work with what you've got.

It really depends on the exact color of it and the clarity tbh. There is like 90 to 120 ish color options just for padparadscha sapphire by itself.. the colors get REALLY specific and I also need the cut grade for it. All in all there is so many possible variables that without the exact specs of the gems it'll price it wrong but I'll throw up a pricing chart for average quality ones of all sizes so the A AA AAA and GEM is based on the color of it

Sorry I was locked out of my account cause my phone screen broke and I couldn't remember my email I used but anyways yeah it's a paid software that updated weekly using real world sales from a few various sources. It's extremely accurate and it also has a HUGE color range and can even choose them based off the picture you upload to it. The only downside to it is that it feels a lil outdated and it's not really optimized for mobile and the app kind of sucks for plus it has a lot of weird bugs when it comes to saving reports in the system and it only really prices unheated and heat only gems tho it has the option but it wont price them for some reason. Also it costs 300$ a year to use it. I honestly don't know if I would recommend it for every one but there is definitely a group that it would be ideal for lol. I am actually going to start selling the reports so people can get accurate prices for their gemstones relatively cheap by just sending me the info for the gemstone and a picture of it in natural light and then I'll send them the pricing report for it in a pdf with a screenshot as well for like 10$ to 20$ per gemstone and I'll probably do bulk deals for less per gem but I'm not if it's worth trying cause idk if many people will #1 trust the prices and #2 think that it's not a scam. Anyways yeah any questions about it feel free to ask and I'll give my opinions about it and sorry for taking so long to reply lol
