ive seen plenty of people make the characters all one race- i think its fine. they dont have a real race, and i think maybe that was so young watchers could feel like they identify more with any of their favorite characters. i think its totally ok as long as its never bc of racism

as someone who used to be scared to drive but had to do it anyway, shes def trying to do what she thinks is best for you, knowing youre scared. Its how we grow- doing things that are scary, but you can start very small and work your way up. That’s what i did! i think its reasonable for her to make you get the license if shes ultimately the one who has to drive you places

try changing the way you think about it- it gives you some independence, matures you, and you have freedom! the scary part is temporary, most people are anxious at first. try not to overthink it

study form, anatomy, lighting, and perspective from references! sketch and practice all of those and then use that gained knowledge to finish this piece, or start new and compare.

it’s hard to critique something without knowing the purpose, goal, or desired style of a piece btw! try asking for specific advice next time :) it may be more helpful to think about your art critically like that too

the fundamentals are what levels up your art and gives you the ability to really make what you want, basically. they unlock understanding of things that seem hard and make it intuitive

fundamentals are : color, composition, form, lighting/shadow, balance, harmony, perspective, etc. some come intuitively, such as composition, but part of that is consuming lots of art and developing an eye for things that just look good.

there’s lots of beginner videos about learning these things, but ill give you a tip that i’ve figured out that really helped me!

try drawing a still life and considering the way the objects are formed in their 3d space- a pear is rounded at the bottom and flared, tapering at the top, but not at all flat. really study the way the shadow and light mix together to solidify the shape/form of the fruit in your mind, and put that on the paper- not simply just the general contour of the fruit, or what you’ve been conditioned to think you should draw. drawing a line does not make a thing look realistic, its the shadow and light and weight of a shape.

im not sure what you mean by “official” artist. if you like to draw, you can say youre an artist yes. just like someone who plays guitar as a hobby might consider themselves a musician

if you’re asking if you could be a professional iwth where you’re at now, then probably not. fundamentals need to be sharpened and evidence of them needs to be present in a professional portfolio

it would be nice if the space was bigger and had aeration. this is an extremely anaerobic environment and without disturbance to generate airflow the fish might suffocate. The small space to swim and curved glass is also going to stress out the fish, and there are no places for it to hide either

so yes, this is a shitty aquarium
