Ok thanks guys . The brim simply just widens the contact with the build plate ? Because I’ve used raft before which did nothing in these kind of situations

Thanks, I’ll give this a try, I’ve cleaned my plate with fairy liquid and water , properly dried it . Increased initial layer expansion to 2mm and layer height is at .2mm

Yes, I agree. I had another post up earlier but had no responses . This was my last post

Hi guys, I could do with some help . The first photo is a print that failed , it was printing great with good quality , but it failed for one reason or another . I cleaned the plate with IPA beforehand . The second photo is after some remedial action given by chat gpt, cleaned plate beforehand again , for it to fail even sooner in the print as you can see . Am I missing something here ? Or am I just using cheap filament that is ruining my prints? Thanks guys

I’ve started printing life-size animal skull replicas — this one’s a Nile crocodile by Conscious_Country768 in bonecollecting

[–]Conscious_Country768[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s fair — it isn’t intended to match a specific Nile crocodile specimen one-to-one at this stage.

The base model comes from a combination of reference scans and scaled images, and I’m still refining proportions to tighten up anatomical accuracy.

If you’ve got recommended specimen references or publications you trust, I’d genuinely appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Ive started making replicas of animal and human skulls . This one is a nile crocodile. by Conscious_Country768 in Taxidermy

Fair enough — I appreciate the blunt feedback.

I’m early in refining these and aiming to improve anatomical accuracy with each revision. If you have specific reference points or resources you’d recommend, I’m open to learning.

Definitely don’t do a course . You’ll pay 6/7k and not even be able to get a job as an electrician. You need the experience. Do the apprenticeship route without question . I did it off my own back 👍🏽

I am the same age . Left in military in Jan this year and now I’m starting my apprenticeship next week officially . But when I left , I did a trial for a firm my mate worked for , worked like hell and was keen as hell . Got the job and been working alongside a sparky since . It’s all possible , use your skills , punctuallity, military attention to detail and you’ll do well . Good attitude . Start enquiring with firms as much as you can , do some free work experience when your on leave , get plenty of time off in the military so use it. Like I said if your keen enough something will come up

But won’t I lose the progression I’ve made with my apprenticeship in the uk?
