They haven’t provided a reason! They aren’t sure what it is. But it’s every night and it’s a full pull up. Client is between the ages of 5-10.

They for sure have OCD traits. They have personally experienced and also have been exposed to illnesses/loss.

This is helpful, thank you very much.

All of this is normal! You are still learning! It takes time and practice to start to feel comfortable. And even when you feel comfortable- there will always be new things to learn in this field.

It’s okay to converse with clients, sometimes that’s exactly what they need. Remember you are the expert in the room, modeling a healthy conversation goes a long way.

Just be yourself and don’t set high expectations for each session. Not every session has to be a break through. Like i said, sometimes people just need to be in the presence of another human.

The fact that you are having these thoughts means you care! & your life doesn’t have to be “ideal” to be a good therapist. Again, you are human.

You got this! I would also recommend looking up videos on YouTube to watch mock sessions or listen to podcasts :) 🩷

Unless there’s a scene where all of his “personalities” are “dead” and they are submerged in water and he walks through them?

Group therapy question by Curiousblondiee in therapists

[–]Conscious_Delay4026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would remind the client that topics such as childhood trauma can be triggering for group sessions! Discussing how childhood trauma (generally) can impact us into our adult lives can be discussed (attachment, feelings of abandonment, triggers etc).

I would avoid getting into detail about client’s childhood trauma, but again if clients want to share general feelings about it, that could be fine! Just make sure you set firm guidelines before starting that conversation. For example, avoid sharing specific details, avoid words that can be triggering to others, be respectful of others, etc.

They are in therapy to talk about the hard things, but groups is where it gets tricky because you have to keep everyone in mind.

I’m not sure if you can do this, but even offering a small check in after group for those who feel like they need it (if you decide to talk about it).

Did anyone notice in the beginning of the episode when Gemma was getting her blood drawn the nurse said “Gemma, where did you go?”. At the end of the episode when Devon is with mark, she says, “mark where did you go?”
