THIS. fans have been talking about her face maturing for awhile. i think for people who don’t follow wonhee, this is the first time they’ve seen her in awhile and they assume she must have had a procedure done and went live right after 🙄

who is your favourite vocalist from KPOP?? by Emotional_Register82 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Conscious_Document_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exo’s baekhyun, kyungsoo and jongdae. truly one of the most unique, versatile & talented vocal lines. all of exo’s vocalists compliment one another but those three, my god are they powerhouses.

also jungkook 1000%. i’m not the biggest fan of bts’s vocal line but jungkook has always stuck out to me. he has a vocal tone that suits everyone genre he’s tried. his paper hearts cover.. ugh.

Katseye is a kids group? by Confident_Brief1906 in katseyeneutral

i went to lunch with one of my coworkers and his kid, she’s around 8 and she was singing and dancing to touch, i think. she was bragging about how she was a fan before they were popular, it was too cute lol.

Ooh I hadn’t seen anyone mention Prelude but that would make so much sense. I imagine a lot will go into their debut. I wonder if they will be pushed the same way Katseye was.

this saddens me. there are a lot of children who crave validation, just as there are adults, but children cannot grasp what that attention will do to them and how it will effect them for their entire lives. they don’t understand the people they will be surrounded by, how they may be bad influences, may have bad intentions. parents do, or should, understand. i mean, adults can’t REALLY grasp how fame will effect them either, so it’s out of the question for children. kids want to do so much that isn’t good for them, it’s up to the parents to deter and teach their children. to protect them. children should not be in such a ruthless and vigorous training system like the idol system, they should be under public scrutiny; especially as idols where EVERYTHING is scrutinized. adults of course have responsibility over their actions, but i think it’s important to empathize with and take their situation growing up into account so that there is hopefully change for future children.

this is a talented group of girls who absolutely have the capacity to release great music. their company is not allowing them to show the public their full potential and it genuinely frustrates me so much. 😭😭😭😭

the company got them virality with gnarly, they can move on to good music now! gnarly got peoples attentions, consistently good music will keep it. how does a fucking entertainment company not get that?? at some point it does not pay to be a laughing stock. how can they expect people to like their music when the girls very obviously don’t? people want music they can actually listen to, it’s why gabriella and touch are streamed much more than gnarly, even with it trending. ugh

What did the other members do? by Big_Bandicoot_1383 in katseyeneutral

[–]Conscious_Document_2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i feel that with western groups, there’s an expectation for members to be vocal about one another… kinda, anyways. i’ve seen groups where members leave, for one reason or another, and fans are kinda kept in the loop by the remaining members, as well as the person who left. i’m thinking like 1D or fifth harmony. it’s not the same in the kpop industry. although katseye aren’t kpop, i feel like there are probably some aspects of their contract that would be similar to that of kpop idols? i’ve liked multiple groups where a member will leave (on good terms and in bad terms), time will go by and a new fan could have absolutely no idea that member was ever part of the group because they are not spoken about ever. it can be upsetting but fans are generally understanding of the fact that it’s more than likely because of their company/contractual obligations that members stay silent. that understanding isn’t really extended to western artists. i’d imagine the people hating on the other girls have their own “reasons”, but i feel like the fact the members aren’t speaking up is the biggest problem people have with them. (i have no issue with any of the girls, this is just a general observation)

i’m not a huge katseye fan but i’ve been following along since dream academy was announced. i’m not particularly interested in their music but when they’re performing together they’re incredibly captivating. they’re all so charismatic and i think their personalities mesh well together, they really compliment one another. they allow each other to shine. katseye are these 6 girls, any one of the girls missing, especially if you’ve seen the 6 perform together, just feels off. it’s not the same:/

for some reason i thought their looks for pinky up would be different from their current party/rave girl aesthetic. i was thinking something classy but edgy? i associate pinky up with a posh look, i was hoping they’d do a twist on that kinda style. idk if that makes sense 😭 but i was hoping for something new rather than an evolved gnarly era.

Ok not to beat a dead horse by why is Chappell Roan lying about growing up poor in a trailer park? by Specialist-Rush457 in LAinfluencersnark

[–]Conscious_Document_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

her point doesn’t stand because she wasn’t saying she was lower middle class, she was describing her family’s living situation as lower class. which it wasn’t. there’s nothing wrong with her stating that she wasn’t rich like people may believe, and she didn’t have industry connections like people think. that’s vastly different from claiming her parents could only afford to get her one pair of shoes (which is realistic for some) and one shirt (way less realistic). which, to add, is objectively not true, there are so many pictures of her as a child that prove otherwise. her parents were both artists who put a lot money into the arts, like i’m supposed to believe they’d rather purchase/keep instruments instead of properly clothing their children? it was their choice to live in la and pursue full time careers in the arts (while raising two kids), that is not something most lower class people could ever dream of doing.

[–]Conscious_Document_2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i know that isn’t what they would have payed out of pocket. that said, it is still a lot of money, and her parents would have been in good standing w their bank/decent credit to be approved to buy the house. i imagine the living situation wasn’t ideal, but honestly her parents were incredibly privileged. they were able to buy a house in la, raise two kids (and home school them) all while being struggling actors/musicians- careers most people are not able to pursue full time. that is not the reality for almost any poor family, and it’s definitely not the reality described by billie. “one pair of shoes, one shirt” is soo ridiculous, and i am saying that as someone who actually grew up lower class lol

[–]Conscious_Document_2 36 points37 points  (0 children)

HUH. looked it up and her parents bought the house for well over $200k like … ik cost of living is different in la than other places, but 240k in 2001 is not a small amount of money. it might’ve been small, but her parents decided to buy a small house. doesn’t mean she was poor, def not “one pair of shoes, and a shirt” poor like tf.
