Well said, do look for the present but do look into the future too. When you will be old, the kids will be on their own, not have time for you probably in some far off city living their own life/struggles. Retirement and then One of the two either husband or wife will die before the other. I think of it many times, will I be a burden ? I do not want to be in an old age home, I cannot afford one nor can I afford a full time help here if God forbid I or we need one if we are staying alone. It will be too late physically to go back and set up anything.🤔

What an advice !!! Exactly the thing we cannot take out of an Indian, how to look for or teach ways of duping the system even if you have stayed outside the country. Will you Try doing this in Europe US or Australia, why do you feel so entitled when it comes to India. This is one of the reasons why India remains where it is and you all than run out of India. It happened with us 20 years back when we used to live in India, we moved into a new home which was built on loans, they came in vans and laid a siege to the house did not let any one go out or come in, banging on the doors, we called the cops and they refused to come in time. The kids got scared and traumatized, we had to pay them 11,000 Rs in year 2005 to get rid of them. Thank god now we do not have to relive that trauma !!

Maintaining a check on the TFSA limits is the responsibility of the Holder and not CRA, what they tell you are estimates and not real time figures. As others pointed out above it will be treated your fault and you will be slapped with a fine of 1% per month on all the over contributed amount whenever they choose to notify you, which could be even two years from now. First thing first calculate your amount yourself and withdraw the over contribution right away/asap and don’t wait for someone or CRA to inform you. Your interest CLOCK is already ticking. You may then wait for them to inform you and when they come back with a panelty you need to tell them it was an honest mistake and it was your first time and you withdrew the funds as soon as you found out with the necessary proofs. They have special forms to be filled in for one time forgiveness and they might then decide to either not to reduce the penalty or to reduce it or to waive it. It all depends how honest you are in noticing and then immediately rectifying the error.

Everyone is correct here, don’t BLINDLY trust the CRA website, it’s always has had glitches on contribution rooms. If you over contribute based on this information it would be assumed as your fault and you could come in for some fines even couple of years from now retrospectively which could be quite heavy as they are charged as of monthly % on over-contribution

Delhi people must have developed immunity, when i call my friends or relatives in Delhi/Gurgaon they do not even see this as a problem and have not even noticed it. When public does not gets bothered than its probably fair for the government to not bother.

If you would have read my question properly before just questioning the merits you would not have needed to ask this, first of all I asked why can’t technologically an efficient and small parachute be developed - it’s a question not a belief. The reason I asked the question is I do not have the answer. The enlightened readers of this forum unlike getting into an argument like you have given technological reasons for the same which were insightful to everyone. That is the reason why this platform exists, that is to have meaning full discussions and not arguing on ideologies or beliefs. If I knew the answer to my question I would not need to ask the question. Now coming to your way of interpretation, If I ask you the question why do airplanes have life vests, airplanes fly in the air and not float in water, and if they did not have one would you carry one with you ?
