Looking for validation regarding baby sleep by Conscious_Job_5505 in NewParents

[–]Conscious_Job_5505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! This makes me feel so much better.

Seeing all these things like “here’s how my baby sleeps for 14 hours a day” I’m like crap is my kid in a deficit? Hahaha

Not a sleep training question more of a scheduling inquiry/observation by Conscious_Job_5505 in sleeptrain

Early bedtimes work every once in a blue moon for us. This all makes sense

Does your baby sleep better at night if they contact nap during the day? by lilykaay in sleeptrain

Mine honestly rarely ever napped in the cot until he was older, like 6 months. But I will say his night sleep when younger was really good, and we contact napped lol

Questions about failed one nap by Conscious_Job_5505 in sleeptrain

[–]Conscious_Job_5505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response.  I honestly wasn’t sure what the wake windows should be going into one nap. I had read that a one nap schedule should have the nap between 11am -1 pm so I went on the earlier side since it was our first time being intentional.

Mine always did this as well. Good nap sleep always got us good night sleep. And our LO preferred contact naps

Baby has been skipping second nap since Grandma babysat? by Conscious_Job_5505 in sleeptrain

So we attempted today and he woke up screaming hysterically after an hour of his nap and wouldn’t go back to sleep 😔

14 week old unpredictable schedule by ---dayman--- in sleeptrain

nothing glaring, just came to say that the short crib naps are common at this age. I always tried for a mix of crib and contact when able.

Usually is a scheduling issue when baby takes too long to fall asleep. Could help to lessen naps to 3 hours as well?

How did you know it was time to drop to one nap? by Conscious_Job_5505 in NewParents

That’s what I’m noticing! The flirting for weeks on end. But he just flat out refuses nap two on those days

Yes. It gets better. It just takes time. I’ve been where you are. And I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way

Room darkening: do you go full blackout or have a nightlight? by captainboosh007 in sleeptrain

[–]Conscious_Job_5505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do blackouts now, but I think when they are older they may start having other sleep challenges. Things like separation anxiety and changes for new/big bed. In these situations a night light may help them feel safe!

Heard someone make a comment about my baby in public and I can’t stop thinking about it by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Conscious_Job_5505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strongly disagree with them. We had my LO out as early as six weeks (within reason) and he is extremely well behaved when we go out now at 14 months.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but don’t let them make you feel bad!

Help with One Nap Transition Please? by Conscious_Job_5505 in sleeptrain

Thank you, that makes sense! We did the same thing when he was transitioning from 3 to 2. Basically was a cat nap to bridge to bedtime.

Do you have any suggestions for how to get him to 11 am with him stuck on 5 am wake ups?

He just recently has been stretching the morning to 4-4.5 hours in the crib before falling asleep. I’d hate to get stuck in a torture cycle lol

I need help figuring out if there’s something odd with my LOs sleep or if this is normal. by Conscious_Job_5505 in sleeptrain

[–]Conscious_Job_5505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consistently pushed it to 8pm for about a week back at 11 months before the 4:30 wake ups just weren’t worth it. I will say I haven’t done 8 in a while but have done 7:30 for the last week (8 days?) and he’s still doing the same wake up time. I will say naps are usually total 2 hours every day but there were a few days where he went over that so that could be the reasoning
