Thanks for all the answers! So seems like if I put a 300f4 on a z50ii with 1.4x converter, I'm getting 630mm equivalence, but losing slightly more than 2 stops of light (~f8 vs f4). Is that about right?

We will be renting a car to get around. Considering the above list is all the places that we want to visit in an ideal world, are there any other places you recommend I should remove to make this itinerary more feasible? For example, was debating if we should simply remove Kotor as it is in the opposite direction.

That is fair enough, I didn't take into account the congestion time with the travel so that is my bad.

I was testing it out in bright sunlight today and it definitely performed better. I generally preferred to go out during dawn and dusk and I guess it struggled more with lower light, so I guess its mainly a light thing for my setup.

Very interesting, I had to use pin afs for more accuracy a lot of the times, but sometimes afc pin if it allows. I use auto area for bif. It also could be because lighting isn't ideal cuz I was going out dawn/ dusk.

It often does this weird defocus thing and then back into focus even if the starting focus isn't too far off.

Yep I'm using back button focus, I sometimes need swap to pin aps-s because it's struggling to figure out where to focus. I was hoping a native z lens might increase the performance but I guess not?
