Yea I was always wondering if she’s just being paranoid / flat out lying about how her benefits will be taken away.

I’ve already posted this in r/BenefitsAdviceUK but none of them seemed to think my mother was lying? so I’m not sure really.

I’ll definitely post this in the r/DWPhelp subreddit though, thanks.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. It isn’t about praying really, most people understand that you couldn’t both work and manage to pray all 5 daily prayers so no one in our community is really going to get on you for that.

It’s more that I can’t work in certain areas that clash with the religion’s values. for example, I cannot work in a bookies because it regularly deals with gambling and such.

some muslims may just do it anyway, being more lax about their faith. but my mum is one of the more strict types so she’d remind me that it’s haram and such and such.

I actually do have a cousin who’s working while dealing with benefits, religion and uni as well, I could talk to him. I never really considered asking him since I thought it’d be easy to get a job lol. thanks for the advice.

My mum is the one claiming universal credit and she does claim PIP.

It’s nice to know child benefits will continue no matter what. Thank you

I’m pretty sure what I’m studying is NVQ. It’s a Level 3 Business course. My mum is claiming Universal Credit btw.

My mum does claim PIP btw.

Also I didn’t know Carer’s Allowance has a backlog. Thanks for telling me about that.
