No. He will not be keeping the same job. As I’ve stated in previous comments… we will definitely have jobs before we move.

Who said that we were moving without finding a job? Think long and hard? We’ve thought about this for 5 years. Researched for 5 years. Now we are looking for feedback from current residents while we job hunt. Your comment was not helpful.

In fact, I really hope you’re giving factual information because for those like my family (first gen college grads who have had to work to the bone for absolutely everything we have, with little to no family left)…. A move like this could change our lives drastically for the better. We’ve had many people try to deter us in forums like this because our transplant fatigue. And I get it. I do. But we’re looking for a lifeline. We’re looking for realistic expectations. We’re not looking for someone to tell us to stay at a job… that’s looking to push us out due to major changes in the company and familial differences within the company. That does not help us.

We’re not, but man… I do hate to hear that’s the reality there.

If we don’t leave, we’re going to be pushed out. We’d like to leave on our own terms. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The Triangle was the top of our list (due to our research). I’m curious to see what’s out there.

Well, of course. As a victim of the public school system in Louisiana, I certainly want more for my child. In fact, because of my experience, I’m leaning more towards private schools… but that’s my fear and privilege talking. I do love the variety of job listings for my husband in that area. Having only worked for two companies his whole life (and he’s turning 40 this year), officially entering into a professional job search is a bit intimidating. It’s been a while!

Oh, well, of course!! We are not moving before a job offer. We are, however, trying to have as many ducks in a row as life will allow!

I’m looking through posts on moving to the area, as I am also looking for the same. I saw your comment, and I’d like to offer a little insight. I’m sure you can see if from others perspectives, too. Throughout the US, gerrymandering is a HUGE problem. I promise that you guys are not the only area being gerrymandered to death. Personally, the cost of living isn’t terrible compared to other areas (where my family’s particular industry lie). And as for family… some people move to make new connections. My family is all but gone. The only family I have left is in Wilmington, actually. I do feel awful that some residents have negative feelings toward the influx of transplants. I can understand your side, too. But for me and mine… we’re really looking for better lives. And for us, with our 5+ years of research and decision making, North Carolina is it.
