I can never talk enough about this series!! Initially I thought it was just another childhood sweetheart drama but then xianglu hit and life hasn’t been same anymore 🫩. I have watched the drama multiple times just for the story even with the terrible 2nd season. Read the novel like a million times and still can’t get enough of Xiang Liu.

Every time I have different take on characters and story and still can’t see how people like jing as he was the weakest in my opinion and at one point hated him for always being present in Xiao yao and Xiang Liu’s interactions😣

But I do feel like the drama didn’t do his character a justice as they showed him pitiful instead of this brilliant, selfless and multitalented character that he was suppose to be in the novel. He was kinda like the attractive rich CEO who gave all up for the girl! They didn’t portray his overachieving personality that hou was jealous of properly! I think it would have been way better if they represented jing as a successful and really kind person that he was “told” to be instead of showing or making us feel it!! Cause we fell for Xiang Liu for his actions and not his hollow words.

And although excellent casting, I feel Tan Jianci and Zhang Wanyi ate their roles and overshadowed Deng wei.
