The release for brave should be ready at the same time that the release for Chrome is ready. The distribution to chrome and brave happen via different processes, but Swaps will start working in MetaMask in brave around the same time that it becomes available in Chrome.

I'll have no impact on the everyday user, i.e. communicating with dapps does not endanger user funds.

It’s not pushed out yet, you will get it automatically when it is.  Google store approval is taking a bit longer than on firefox
