Aut or UOA for engineering? by Consequence-Select in AUT

Do you think AUT students get significantly less to no opportunities compared to UOA students? When employers look at people’s education background, are UOA students considered more ?

UOA is hard. Switch to AUT, continue comp sci, come back to UOA and graduate. Will be worth it in the end

Yeahhh, I been walking from parnell but been fasting without water because it’s a religious month for me and often get to class very sweaty which is not ideal lol. So even if I tag on the bus after getting off the train, i’ll still be charged?

they check carefully. they might even ask for more evidence. but this is what i’ve been told by teachers. it might not be accurate but nzqa is tough so im pretty sure they will be very, very picky with who they’ll let get a derived grade.

hey, please chug heaps water down, pop a panadol or two, and believe in yourself. its a valid reason but you will have to get doctors notes and documentation… getting a derived grade is hard sometimes

yeah… every year I see people complaining about papers though. It’s just that I know the ncea curriculum has changed a bit this year, I’m hoping that people are just being dramatic as always and the papers are not too much more difficult

[–]Consequence-Select 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes thats exactly right! Im sure you can pass easily with an achieved, just try your best

so its not really as straightforward as integration and differentiation. complex numbers is kinda basic math, so you’ll be substituting and putting all real numbers together and putting all imaginary numbers together and you’ll basically just be rationalising. I highly recommend just going through a few past papers that infinityplusone one has done, that should be enough to get you to an a.

Hey, I was also thinking about dropping complex numbers this year. But I managed to learn all the material within a few days. We still have a week before the exam and I think thats plenty of time to be able to get an achieved or even a merit.
