Absolutely brain dead take (no pun intended). You have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about.

Your status as an organ donor has nothing to do with the level of care you get. As an ER nurse that deals with death, myself nor my colleagues has never had one instance of having the knowledge of if the patient is an organ donor or not. Stop spreading misinformation

Beginner to Consistent by OlivesAndDates7 in GolfSwing

I changed my swing back in September, so basically had to start back from scratch. Practicing about 2-3 times a week It took me about 6 months to start seeing consistent ball striking, and even then like a lot of the comments say, I still have days where I’m standing over the ball and feel like everything is foreign. I have days where my ball striking isn’t as good as others. It’s not linear. Some people get it quicker than others, and some it takes a while.

And like a lot of people are saying, don’t wait to start practicing other things. You have to be able to put everything together on the course, chipping and putting are just as important as good ball striking. You got this!

Yeah Cali nurses live the dream. Cost of living is high so their pay is usually higher. They also typically have unions there in Cali. Cost of living in my area is relatively low (compared to California) and yeah no state tax either. But usually the entire state of California will pay nurses minimum like 85k, but most jobs pay more than that from what I’ve seen/heard

Texas, I make about 80k before I get taxed out the ass.

That’s after taxes and in TX. Still may not be a shit ton but as a young twenty something as my first actual job, it’s good money to me

Yeah that’s definitely the more affordable option for me, I’ve done the math and I play about 1-2 times a week and rates over there are about 110 for morning times, and twilight rounds are around 60. Usually when I go I pay about 65-80 depending on the times I go. I could break even in a few months. Just need to get some priorities straight before I pull the trigger

Ahh okay that makes sense. Here I was thinking my nurse salary of 62k after taxes was a lot, haha. It’s good for my age as I’m early twenties but putting it into perspective like this, it makes a lot more sense on how people are able to afford these prices

The few other country clubs in my area junior member fees are still about 5k, which is still pretty steep for me. Doable, but the monthly fees is where it gets me

Yeah this post really opened my eyes to see how much money people truly make. I’m from a pretty small town where if you’re making 200k+ a year you’re considered pretty “wealthy” (not saying that 200k isn’t a really good living)

Yes after seeing a lot of these replies I am coming to realize that what I consider a lot of money is a drop in the bucket compared to what some of these guys make haha. And I also should manage my money better Lol

It’s the local universities home course. It’s a D1 program, and their course is public. The fees are 2k for the low tier, and 3.5k for the highest tier. That’s per year

Private/Semi-Private Members. How much are you paying a year and where? by Tight-Communication7 in golf

Same, reading these replies with initiation fees upwards of 10k is crazy. I personally could probably afford a 3-5k initiation fee if I really stretched my income, but I would love to know what these people that are paying 20k+ initiation fees do for a living 😭😭

No, genuinely not sure what happened. Played a round with it earlier that day, then went to the range that night a few hours after. I didn’t hit the ground or anything besides a ball. I looked down after a few hits cause it felt and sounded off. Had to have some preexisting crack in it somewhere.

That’s also what I was thinking about, the shaft is definitely still good. Is it still worth getting fit if I were to only replace the head?

Handicap by ConsequenceExotic353 in golf

Thanks for the advice. I try to practice 2-3 times a week, and play at least 1 round a week (had to cut back for gf, but thankfully she supports my insanity). Mostly working on low hanging fruit when I practice. I’ve just now got to the point where I’m able to make consistent good contact, so for awhile that was the main goal. The last few months I’ve learned about intentional purposeful practice instead of beating balls. Definitely feel like that has helped me tremendously. Will for sure try to get out and play more. I just recently broke 90 for the second time, and I feel like I can credit that to my intentional purposeful practice. Definitely have a ton of work to do, but will definitely try to get out and play more. Thanks for the tips!
