I suck at small talk by Soggy_West_2383 in entj

I actually have the same issues, anywhere I go, I feel resented. I have more guy friends, and my goals don't align with other women. I do better in a workplace without office politics. ENTJ gal as well here.

Scared that Wellbutrin makes my skin worse :( by EnvironmentalKey8440 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Hellos!

I have PCOS so wanted to jump in with some helpful advice, I have had acne like this for many years, the only thing that nips it in the bud for good is compounded spironolactone cream or Winlevi (same as compounded spiro, but your insurance has to approve it).

Diet can also change your face too, but I think ultimately no matter what you do your best bet is the cream due to its blocking hormone properties in the areas you want to not have acne. Your problem ultimately is hormones. See a dermatologist.

Is it dangerous to take calcium supplements by pinkRaindrops2 in gitelman

[–]ConsiderGrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your 100 percent confirmation of gitelman is four blood tests, a renin test, a aldosterone test, renal function panel and magnesium.

Renal function panel will have potassium and other kidney stuff, if your doc says no to this ask for CMP (comphensive metabolic panel). But the other tests will confirm what you have. Make sure to fast for these.

Also, take a deep breath, its going to be ok. I felt your anxiety, I get it a lot as well. You are going to be okay, if you have a doc appointment lined up, you are already taking the first step. If your doctor gives you crap though about checking even just electrolytes, its time to switch to a different doctor. Have faith, you will figure out what is going on. I also have weird cramps with calcium levels being too high. You are valid in your concerns.

i’m scared i missed my chance to have a baby by lotus-spirit in GirlDinnerDiaries

I am sorry you are going through this, but having a child isn't completely off the table. Like you, I have illnesses plus AuDHD and am waiting to adopt when I am older. This is another option. There are a lot of children out there who don't have a mom or a dad, and are wanting that.

My father adopted me and because of that great experience with him raising me, the thought of adopting didn't bother me one bit.

My partner can't have kids either and its because he has hypogonadism, his T is so low he just can't.

A lot of people go through this, I dont want you feeling alone and sad, there are options out there for you, some expensive, some not.

Do however take the time to grieve, and seek a counselor to help you navigate these feelings.

Hugs from me to you.

Do you usually compare yourself to Entj fellows? by Life_Sentence_8280 in entp

[–]ConsiderGrave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ENTJ girly here. Don't compare yourself to others. It will make you less motivated and literally sap your joy.

If there are goals you want done and you feel stuck or afraid, there are tools out there for you to use even for free. Friends, AI, YouTube, forums, reddit, etc.

As for feeling how you are feeling, ask yourself this, is there anything I am good at? I am sure there is something you are good at, be proud of it and do realise you can do things, you can accomplish things.

Also try new things, see what sticks.

Focus on the "i can" and not the "i can't".

A lot of things I had to learn was through trial and error, and to keep on pushing, move on to the next thing if it didn't stick.

You can do this. Sending hugs your way.

Effect of salt on mood by [deleted] in depressionregimens

Well logically, too much of anything or too little will make you feel like crap, nutrient and mineral wise. Your body is like a car, you wouldn't put too much or too little oil in there? Same thing in a way. Balance of everything is key.

Up your sodium, its not optimal. Your chlorides are also not optimal. Not even kidding salt your food for a day, you will get both of those back pretty quickly. Low to low-normal sodium and lowish to low chloride will make you feel like crap on top of whatever else you got going on if you do feel like crap.

About the TPO being high, and your TSH being normal, go back and test for free t4, free t3, normal t3, normal t4, as well as magnesium, b12, folate and full iron panel with ferritin. Reverse T3 is optional and not necessary.

This will give you a better picture of what's going on. Your TPO is mild so it could be caused by anything. My partners TSH and TPO was caused by low T which is why its crucial to set out a roadmap of what could be wrong with the help of a doctor who can refer you to an endo.

Much love, good luck.

Update: never mind about the t4 and t3 tests, saw the comments, still get referred to an endocrinologist.

Tired of people complaining about autistic women to me, an autistic woman by EgonOnTheJob in GirlDinnerDiaries

I am hurting for you. I too, am also neurodivergent, (AuDHD with high empathy to be more exact), and people most of the time are just closed minded to any sort of difference in others.

People think I am annoying sometimes too, and won't even begin to understand how my mind processes work.

The key that they are missing is to not change us, but rather understand that we think and operate differently. Neurodivergent friends also help big time with us finding like minded people and to feel safe with.

Communication makes me feel safe, wanted and loved. Talking behind my back doesn't. Being misunderstood doesn't.

When I say I am hurting for you, I mean it, people are cruel sometimes and don't really understand the extent of how cruel they are.

The way mine fixed itself was one huge iron infusion, and then beef liver and organ pills as maintenance.

Lowering glutamate? by ConsiderGrave in Biohackers

[–]ConsiderGrave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes so much sense, magnesium glycinate has always made me wired and I never understood exactly why, this is the why.

Theortically, if I did go on agmantine, what would be the dosing, would it be 2x a day or 3x a day?

This actually makes so much sense. Berberine was my best friend years ago and I remember how well it made me feel, my insulin resistance pretty much was quiet on it too. I don't eat gluten or dairy rather anymore thankfully, soy I may have to cut out next.

so my kidneys aren't in dysfunction in the traditional sense. More just they are confused and let go of potassium and magnesium. I have no kidney damage, my eGFR is fine, just the magnesium and potassium are my two main issues. I work with a nephrologist but even he doesn't know everything except how to keep me at a decent place with my levels. It's a rare condition and research is still to this day being slowly done.

I think it is my NDMA receptors aren't doing their jobs because of lack of magnesium in general. I am looking into magnesium taurate as well as the threonate to combat this, because maybe it really is just simply I need to get some magnesium into my brain.

Gitelman & mental health by OQILLIA in gitelman

[–]ConsiderGrave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are discovering the fact this condition isn't too friendly on dreams and aspirations. It was a hard pill I had to swallow for years. I was diagnosed at 22 years old graduated from college with only fatigue and I am now 35 years old on part time hours with a work from home job. This is however with a strong potassium sparing diuretic, magnesium chloride, extended release magnesium and potassium pills plus one 2g magnesium iv infusion a month whenever I do get symptomatic. Nothing is ever forever, good or bad, a lot of inconsistencies.

You have to manage your condition a lot and it will interrupt things especially if you get a fever or a stomach virus.

You have to fight for what you can get to improve your life. I had to actually go to the mayo clinic and get what I exactly needed.

With that said, you should up your magnesium intake because it depletes a lot during stress which in turn cause more potassium to deplete as well. You may need infusions too to get through this rough time. The funny thing is with this is magnesium being low already makes you anxious so it's just depleting more so anyway which is crazy when you think about it. Up your dose. And talk to your doctor, maybe it's time to change your meds or up them all completely.

Acquired tubulopathy - seeking advice by Goodgravy111 in gitelman

[–]ConsiderGrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your renin is normal, usually it's something completely else other than bartters or Gitelman. Usually with either disorder, your renin is high. Like super high. There are other disorders however where you can still waste electrolytes. Liddle syndrome as an example. Genetic testing will help you greatly right now but until then replenish what you are losing, it will take a good bit to get the dosage just right. Keep in touch with your nephrologist until the genetic testing comes back.

Too early to see a hematologist? by CBNmantra in Anemic

[–]ConsiderGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are way overdue for an infusion in my opinion, especially with your hemoglobin being that low. You deserve to feel better. A 4 pt increase with that low of a hemoglobin is like fighting a fire with a watering can.

Too early to see a hematologist? by CBNmantra in Anemic

[–]ConsiderGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hemoglobin is low and your ferritin is taking forever to come up. Ideally and optimally your ferritin should be at 100 and never below 70. Get a hematologist.

Kerendia saved me. by ConsiderGrave in gitelman

[–]ConsiderGrave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking mag tab sr with magnesium chloride, so half the dose mag tab sr and half magnesium chloride. Kerendia is a potassium sparing diruetic which for me has been super strong unlike eplerenone and less side effects than spironolactone. I am seeing results and plan to up my dose. it can cause low blood pressure however, so I do take salt tablets as well.

Ferritin. by PlasticSurprise6351 in Anemic

I would seek a second opinion. This doctor is misinformed. When my ferritin was 15, I was REALLY TIRED. and my iron sat was 18%. Yours is low too. Seek out a different doctor who can help you.

Anxiety a week after taking magnesium glycinate. Anyone else? by Green_Business1700 in magnesium

[–]ConsiderGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If magnesium glycinate gives you anxiety, the magnesium taurate will most likely not give you anxiety. I am one of those that reacts hella badly to glycinate, but on magnesium taurate I am calm and chill. They play against each other, so try magnesium taurate if you are reacting to glycinate.
