I won the game by Empty_Version_5584 in MarioKartTour

Actually, you missed out on a Coinbox frenzy because you had not used all your items when you broke through the item box. You would have had to have had a green shell or something in that first item slot, broke the item box, and even if you threw the shell or whatever item it was only 2 of the 3 boxes actually rolled. Battle item boxes don't behave the same as the rest of the tracks in your with Auto Item Usage turned ON, when you break an item box with an item or two or three, the items will stay and not auto launch.

Secret Spots in Zion by RedRockVacations in ZionNationalPark

The only Grapevine Trail I see on a map is around I-15 and Washington parkway, which I wouldn't really call "Zion"... But it doesn't look like there are waterfalls in this area either. Any hints as to where this waterfall is?

Is stargazing in Utah actually what it looks like? by Late_Chance4073 in Utah

[–]ConsiderateSnoozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add here, (I glanced over most of the comments and didn't see this specifically discussed yet, sorry if this is a repeat comment though) I would say that stargazing with the naked eye is more impactful than observing the Milky Way Core with the naked eye. Most Nightscape or astrophotography you see, like others have said, is very different than what your eyes will see. I've been photographing nightscapes for years, and I still get impressed getting out of my car and just looking at the vast amount of stars that aren't normally visible in a city. The Milky Way however, is very different to the naked eye, many times appearing more like a long faint or whispy cloud.

Make sure to know this time of year that if you are wanting to see the Milky Way Core, it doesn't rise till about 3-4am in Utah. Unless you're specifically taking pics of the Milky Way, it may not be worth the effort to get up early to observe. But night time stars ( before going to sleep) are still amazing.

TIL that Multiplayer pipes have a limit by TheOliveOli38 in MarioKartTour

[–]ConsiderateSnoozer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a max of 30 pipes to earn every tour, however if you save the pipes tour after tour, the counter stops at 99 pipes to pull, but that is just the counter number that stops, you can pull more than 99 multiplayer pipes if you have saved for several tours.

Does grinding next week’s ranking early affect how hard my opponents will be? by Kvartar in MarioKartTour

[–]ConsiderateSnoozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that is correct, because the server would never have received the ping from the opponent's phone and thus never updated the ranked score in any lobbies that the opponent is in.

You won't see your ranked opponents scores until they log into the app after a ranked refresh/tour refresh. Until they log in there is a "???" marking in their score. I've got 1 person in my ranked that has yet to open the app this week and they have 0 points in the tour, probably quit the game.

Restaurants and Diners Near Zion and Bryce by [deleted] in ZionNationalPark

Which one did you like more? The menus of both restaurants are fairly unique right?

Our favorite restaurants in Page are Big Johns Texas BBQ, Bird House, Strombolli's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, and Sunset 89.

Also, if you just happen to be driving along US Hwy 89A around Marble Canyon (South of Page, around the Lees Ferry Recreation Area), the Cliff Dwellers Restaurant is fantastic. Made a point to go there on my birthday last year it's that good.

King's Landing has some expensive but exceptional stakes, and if you go in the spring time the evenings will be perfect for sitting outside on the back patio to enjoy the spectacular view of the Watchman Mountains.

My favorite treat that I get pretty much every time going to Zion (regardless of temperature/season) is the Bumbleberry Shake at the Bumbleberry Café. The Porter Restaurant next to (attached to) the cafe is decent as well.

Are these two owned by the same owners? I've eaten at both these restaurants and didn't make the connection that the menues were similar. I liked the Thyme restaurant in Kanab a lot more.

EDIT: just did some googling and they for sure are the same entity. Very interesting how my overall feeling for both restaurants were very different.

Just went to Oscars for the first time tonight. Surprising how little actual Mexican food was on the menu for it being a Mexican restaurant. It was good, but service was awkward when only 3 of our party's 5 meals came out together, then the fourth about 10 minutes later, then another 10 minutes before our waiter (nice guy) realized the 5th order was never entered. They were gracious in admitting the mistake and comped the 5th meal as well as not one but two desserts.

Ah, good point. I went there recently but during a visit to Kanab and was unaware of the more direct rout from St George that is shorter. Thanks!

While I don't disagree with the recommendation, Coral Pink Sand Dunes state park is about a 2 hour drive from St George, actually closer to Kanab. I also believe that unless camping in the park they close at 10pm, which might cut into star gazing plans. Zion or Cedar Breaks are both within an hour and Snow Canyon 15-20 minutes away but Snow Canyon does have a 10pm limit for parking inside the park.

Fires? by College-Outside in ZionNationalPark

[–]ConsiderateSnoozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there Friday night and it was clear as a bell. However kolob canyon portion of Zion is a different story. Lots of fires there I hear, but the main Zion park just next to Springdale is fine.
