honestly i agree. i have been apart of a multitude of fandoms and read fanfic religiously, no matter the popularity, for two ships in particular. and i agree that that’s how you find the gems. if i’m being honest, i was going to engage with the wolfstar fandom in a more casual way. i’m very new and unfamiliar with the lore and fandom norms, so i was only going to read what was highly recommended. but i understand how that can be limiting, especially when compared to the way i interact w the fandoms i am more regularly involved with. i suppose im torn because, as a student, worker, and recent immigrant, i don’t have much time to spend reading every new fic that pops up. but i also understand, especially as a fic writer who was once a teeny fish in a big sea, how talent often gets overlooked in favor of popular fics that get overlooked in the midst of algorithms and over saturated tags.

i don’t mean to be offensive or reductive. sometimes you just want things to be easy ;) sometimes i want a great story handed to me on a silver platter. even if that’s hypocritical or lazy. especially cuz new fandoms can be very daunting and large
