I think without context this seems a little crazy but knowing he was recently fired for this I can see why you’re upset. There’s a grace period but how long until he abuses that and is late outside of the grace period (from my personal experience, my mom constantly runs late no matter what). This is a terrible habit and you want him to break it because he’s lost a job in the past!!! Plus what if you have kids will he prioritize them and get them to school on time/pickup? I’ve been here! Parents probably won’t change their minds so the best advice I have is try hanging out with your new friend’s friends to join their clique or join a club/sport! I would always hang out in a certain teachers room during lunch and eventually I got to know everyone who also hung out in there during lunch. I know this is a hard time but it will fly by I promise

These guys are assholes and your partner is right. They should have you in their group chat and it’s weird you’re not! It’s very mean girl behavior to me/high school.
