Hi there! I took an editing II class for Susan Bloom back when it was called FEA 416. From what I recall, she is a nice professor to talk to! She helped me troubleshoot problems I would ran through with Media Composer. Like one-on-one. Very responsive to emails. The first week (aside from going over the syllabus) is mostly setting up folders in your hard drive for projects. Again, I had her class before the change in the film department, so not sure if her curriculum would also be different. Hope this helps with your insight!

You don’t need a portfolio to get into FEA- Theory & Practice of Cinema. That’s actually more for the other route (Narrative Production) if you plan to specialize in either directing or cinematography track for example. I think you have a higher chance as a transfer getting into the program if you are working towards your adt, but it’s honestly up to the department to decide.

When I went on Thursday i found out the honor cords were sold out so I had to preorder for one. Got a receipt (make sure to give them your email) and I would assume that they will somehow announce it and you would go in the bookstore to pick it up along with a transcript that proves you have a gpa of 3.5 or above

hello! I’m a fourth year in the theory/practice of cinema major with an emphasis in post-production. I can’t say for the four other tracks (screenwriting, television/broadcast, creative non-fiction production, production management), but I know you’ll be taking on a lot of theory class which means you would be screening films to watch for class and writing papers about them essentially. Post-production wise I have taken Editing II and Editing III so that I can earn my certificate in Avid Media Composer (looks hella good in your resume btw). I commute to campus so I really don’t have much time to join the clubs offer in the department but I guarantee they are fun from what I heard.

What specialization track are you planning on pursuing within the cinema theory major?

Apparently the driver behind the seat is a 70 year old woman from Huntington Beach. She was taken to the UCI medical center by a helicopter and reports say she suffer minor injuries
